If you're only going to play one, just get the base game and play through the campaign there. Aftershock is great, but it's best played after the original game so you can appreciate the new additions.

That said, if you play the campaign without Aftershock and you like it, definitely give Aftershock a go. It's well worth it if you're a fan of this game or older titles like Duke Nukem 3D.

i never play any game a second time, nether any DLC of any game. Even my fav. game the witcher 3 i didn't touch the DLCs.

Thats why im asking. i rush to beat, and If i beat the game, probrably i will be very tired to continue playing.

I played original and it got boring halfway, still had to beat it.
It was quite some time ago, and now aftershock feels the same, good at start, gets boring eventually.
So just play original game, and put on easy difficulty, enemies still hit hard but you dont die often, to avoid replaying and getting mad over the game even more

Ok i just bought both and played the main campaign until the kind of arena level.
Than i reestarted in aftershock and its just a different campaign. So im gonna finish the main campaign i started and probrably don't touch the dlc. Thanks everyone.

i tought it was the same campaign but with additions.

You're thinking about the arrange mode, which is the main game's campaign, but the maps are mirrored, have some other small changes, and have Aftershock's new campaign's enemies and weapons and things instead of the original stuff.

lol, I think this is a you issue. Decide what you want to play, all advice you get here will to be to play the og campaign, then the other if you like it and want more.

Everyone says the Blood and Wine DLC of Witcher 3 is better than the base game. You should try it
Flan Oct 3, 2023 @ 8:19pm
The new enemies/pickups/weapons and tweaks in the arrange mode for the main campaign make it the better way to play it now. The levels in aftershock are all top quality compared to some not as good levels in the original and even the best levels in the original are just reaching the design and flow of aftershock. You could just play the dlc if you wanted, the story is not that important and the dlc wastes no time getting you well armed and fighting varied enemies unlike the original.

This is a horrible, horrible mindset.

Capital Offense and Aftershock are two different episodes, so...
....but honestly, looking at you mindset, you might aswell move on to an entirely different hobby.

Blowing through the game on Easy mode... sounds like an extremely boring and non-challenging way to play.

I'd say the base game.

if you dont okay DLCs then why even ask about Aftershock? saying you love the Witcher but actually refuse to play DLCs seems like edgy arrogant nonsense to try and create a "personality"

its bizarre what people do to feel special

why even play retro FPS games? you sound like you hate them...
