When is this new patch coming out?
It's been talked about since around November of last year, but lately there's been radio silence from the devs on nearly every bug thread.

Oh man, I really hope the "performance boost" means steady frame times. This game has been unplayable for me because of this.

looks great!

Nice! Here's hoping for fixes to the Eduke32 micro-stutter (or Build-caused, idk which engine causes it).

Recently sloped sprites support was added to the Build engine

We are considering updating the old maps in a few places

I believe one of the devs mentioned something about overhauling the mouse input? is that still coming out or has it been out? the mouse still feels incredibly off.

Yeah that's what I'm concerned with too, the extreme frame tearing and mouse floatiness are my two biggest gripes right now.

The mouse is fixed but the bad tearing / frame pacing / whatever the ♥♥♥♥ that is is still there in the newer EDuke32 versions.

Apparently a lot of it is coming from newer (meaning anything relatively recent really) versions of Windows / GPU drivers not really knowing what to do with the ancient OpenGL 1.1 the engine is based on so I don't expect that problem going away anytime soon. That's why I don't get this talk about a "performance boost" either because for 99% of the campaign there is nothing wrong with the game's performance per se, why the game can look like if it was running like absolute trash is because there are inconsistencies. Those can have this weird butterfly effect where they lead to stuttering, some very jarring tearing and a vsync feature that's just broken.

Nobody's going to get rid of that by I dunno, optimizing a few scripts in the maps and I fear that this "performance boost" will mean just that. I don't need 1000 fps, I'd love to have only 144 that's consistent.

Idk man, in most games my mouse feels responsive and snappy, but here it seems like I'm always jumping past an enemies head or trying too hard to focus on hitting them when the natural reaction should just be to aim and shoot, something definitely still feels off about the input.

What I meant was that the mouse is fixed in EDuke32 and NOT in the commercially available version of Ion Fury. So yeah, if you launch the game now then the mouse will still be quite bad (because it's operating at a 30 Hz refresh... lol) but in EDuke32 it's great now and those fixes will all be in the patch for IF that's coming (if it ever comes out that is).

Oh, sorry for misreading lol. I really do hope the input fixes come in the next patch because I'm really getting antsy about playing this.

I'm sure you'll love the new mouse input (long time arena FPS player here: it's great), what I'm worried about is the tearing and stuttering that plagues my EDuke32 experience for around 6 years now. :D At this point I'm kinda curious on just how 3D Realms fits into this whole equation because really this is not how you're supposed to ship an engine for a commercial game. Was there even any QA? If this wasn't tied to the Bombshell IP and VoidPoint just self-published the thing on Steam I think we'd have gotten the same quality: a fantastic EDuke32 TC with a bunch of engine issues holding it back a bit.

The Wendigo looking thing looks like it has higher fidelity. I like. But the Millipede is just getting a makeover. I am skeptical.

All I really desire is for the "All I got was this Lousy TShirt" Achievement to be cofnirmed to function in the correct parameters, then I can give it a go.

Also Steam Workshop support.

Can you please give us a rough estimate of "Soon"? One week? One month?

Thanks
