check the arcade
If you do get really hung up on key cards, there are cheats that will resolve that issue so that you could just go ahead and continue on your merry way to romp around blasting away at anything that moves. ;)
The first keycard is in the arcade yes. Im talking about te blue keycard in the are where the music changes.
No shame in that. I'm not a great player by any means myself. My reflexes for playing FPS aren't quite as sharp as they were 20-some years ago either, and I'm not afraid to pull out the cheats when I need to. :P
A silly goose with a Loverboy none the less! ;D
So eh, don't worry about it, keycards are never hidden out of sight, what you do need to do from time to time is do stuff like remembering where that door was you can now use your brand new keycard on, or sometimes using the map (Tab button) if lost.
And there will be backtracking, a LOT of it, with doors in earlier parts of the level that require a keycard you don't yet have. Checking camera screens (you can interact with them) near the buttons you've just pressed also tends to clue you in on where you need to go next, typically.
But nothing to worry about, if all you wanna do is shoot you'll probably manage, almost no exploration is required to make progress, but it's still recommended to do so for extra ammo and secrets. And the levels are packed with fun sights, secrets and activities, so why not? It definitely enhances the game more, it's no linear corridor shooter or anything.
