I am stuck
This is very embarrassing... but Im stuck on the first level. Im running around like a silly goose on the first level trying to find the blue keycard. Any help would be welcome, I am not a big fan of running around searching for stuff in an action game :steamfacepalm:

I'm just taking a wild guess here in presuming that you might have been to young to be around when the original Build Engine games came out in the 90's. Finding key cards was a staple component of this genre of games back then. The same goes for solving puzzles.

If you do get really hung up on key cards, there are cheats that will resolve that issue so that you could just go ahead and continue on your merry way to romp around blasting away at anything that moves. ;)

Nah I played Duke Nukem 3D pretty much back in the days. Still found that part pretty jarring and meaningless, TBH. Then again, Im the kind of person who spends most mornings looking for keys, glasses, vallet before I go to work. I really suck at finding stuff, both IRL and in games ><

XD LOL

No shame in that. I'm not a great player by any means myself. My reflexes for playing FPS aren't quite as sharp as they were 20-some years ago either, and I'm not afraid to pull out the cheats when I need to. :P

I'm 37, so you can say I've played all the staples during their haydays but I STILL had to look that up about the baton. lol I'm not sure why my brain didn't connect electric baton to the obviously powered off generator. After that quick google search, the rest of the game falls into place.

Well, you probably got the answer by now, but really, the keycards are fairly hard to miss. You almost HAVE to bump into them in order to progress sometimes! Didn't they spin, too? Even easier to notice. :P

So eh, don't worry about it, keycards are never hidden out of sight, what you do need to do from time to time is do stuff like remembering where that door was you can now use your brand new keycard on, or sometimes using the map (Tab button) if lost.

And there will be backtracking, a LOT of it, with doors in earlier parts of the level that require a keycard you don't yet have. Checking camera screens (you can interact with them) near the buttons you've just pressed also tends to clue you in on where you need to go next, typically.

But nothing to worry about, if all you wanna do is shoot you'll probably manage, almost no exploration is required to make progress, but it's still recommended to do so for extra ammo and secrets. And the levels are packed with fun sights, secrets and activities, so why not? It definitely enhances the game more, it's no linear corridor shooter or anything.

There’s a redundant Electrofryer baton pickup right in front of the first generator you encounter in the game. It makes you auto-switch to the baton when you pick it up, and it’s highlighted with a coloured light I think I recall. It’s just bad luck that you were probably distracted at that moment and missed the clues.
