Either way, thanks for supporting our game! I'm kinda glad we left software mode in now... I originally didn't want to support it, because our maps push it to the point where it runs so slow it's almost just a gimmick, but it makes me happy to see someone getting actual use out of it!
Also, I'm Super happy to see my input helps! like I said in software mode it runs very acceptably for me at 1366x768 resolution. I've experienced no slowdowns and was able to make it to the end with no problems at all! as a guy who just threw 20 bucks at a game that isn't even finished yet, I can say I'm very glad you guys left in software mode too! it goes to show that computers are just weird. I feel it's best to have as many graphical options as possible when it comes to making PC games as to not leave anyone out to dry.
so... it, somehow, My PC has newer drivers than even intel's site has. I downloaded the installer and when I boot it up it says "This computer currently contains driver versions newer thanthe versions you are about to install." weird... welp, like I said, I'm just happy the damn thing works at all! Thanks again for taking the time to talk to me about this. it's always nice to get developer feedback on this kind of stuff!
I'd recommend either dropping the resolution just a little or turning on Pixel Doubling.
Consider giving the appropriate driver package for your OS a shot. Intel HD Graphics 3000 reportedly supports up to OpenGL 4, though after updating you may need to go into your 3D settings to confirm support.
If so, your drivers may mot be recognizing Ion Maiden as a game. This Dell article may help you select your NVIDIA graphics processor as default, to use it for Ion Maiden. https://www.dell.com/community/General/Optimus-Settings-power-setting-choices-for-increased-performance/m-p/3700935
My experience with Intel graphics is that their OpenGL support is spotty at best, crashing the runtime DLL when you give it commands it doesn't like.
