SHIM
It might stand for "Shelly Harrison: Ion Maiden", but if that isn't specifically stated anywhere then it could be argued that it could stand for a great number of other things, or maybe it doesn't stand for anything at all. :P
Plus, Shelly could be thought of as the "shim" (or wedge) that broke up Dr. Heskel's evil plan.
1: It's not MY game. I'm not a dev nor 3D Realms staff.
2: No. ♥♥♥♥ 'em. They don't own the English language, and the game isn't called "Iron Maiden". Usage of the word "maiden" shouldn't be behind a paywall or under threat of lawsuit by some litigious piece of ♥♥♥♥ representing a band whose glory days are far behind them.
I mean, imagine Slayer (the band) suing Id Software because they renamed the Doomguy as the "Doom Slayer". Or Fall Out Boy suing Bethesda because of the Fallout series. Absurd, ain't it? This is the exact same scenario, only even more ridiculous because in no point they've used the whole "Iron Maiden" name.
The point still stands
Iron Maiden can get ♥♥♥♥♥♥, most the ♥♥♥♥ in the claim is asinine.
From what I've seen the claim is already acting like Shelly is based on one of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in Iron Maiden soooo how would that help?

Try to see it from Iron Maiden Holding perspective, they do have a case.
@ Erebus - read what? 3D Realm's b.s. ? Biased game media?

If you actually read the stuff half the case is hinging on their fans being ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiots.
Nevermind that the names aren't that close and the name itself comes from 2016's BOMBSHELL.

Damn... I didn't know iron maiden owned the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rights to a skull icon because of their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ zombie thing.
They even go as far as to use search engines ♥♥♥♥♥♥ auto-correct as "evidence".
The closest thing they have is the fact people are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiots that cannot read what is actually written.
Appearance? Nope. Sound? Maybe in a british accent... but they aren't filing the suit in the UK. Commercial impression? Only to the people that headbanged their braincells to death.
And no, Maiden of Mayhem wouldn't be any better (because lawyers can smell money from a mile away and there's just as good a chance the word mayhem could be used against them. In my opinion they should stick to their guns and fight this silly lawsuit... showing the world what a dying, irrelevant metal band looks like.
Yeah, that was pretty much what I meant when I said this looked like something Lionel Hutz would file.
3 years ! And nothing but words. And you know what they say talk is cheap, take action !
