Here is a new name idea after the recent lawsuit.

Maiden of Mayhem

Here's a simple One:

SHIM

It might stand for "Shelly Harrison: Ion Maiden", but if that isn't specifically stated anywhere then it could be argued that it could stand for a great number of other things, or maybe it doesn't stand for anything at all. :P

Plus, Shelly could be thought of as the "shim" (or wedge) that broke up Dr. Heskel's evil plan.

Well, here's the thing. Lawyer intimidation tactics only work if the one who's on the wrong side of them is... well, intimidated.

If they keep pushing, they'll eventually have to demonstrate their claims in a court. And since their claims are pure, unadulterated ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I think they'll have a hard time if they press on.

I mean, imagine Slayer (the band) suing Id Software because they renamed the Doomguy as the "Doom Slayer". Or Fall Out Boy suing Bethesda because of the Fallout series. Absurd, ain't it? This is the exact same scenario, only even more ridiculous because in no point they've used the whole "Iron Maiden" name.

It does help to research when bands formed, since not all formed around the time of the game title. Besides, Fall Out Boy would've been sued by Interplay, not Bethesda, for having it similar to Vault Boy.

If you spent 2 minutes reading anything you'd know Iron Maiden's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ claim is about more than the name.

Iron Maiden can get ♥♥♥♥♥♥, most the ♥♥♥♥ in the claim is asinine.

This sums things up pretty damn well, and I would encourage anyone trying to understand the situation to look at these comparisons. The allegations made in the lawsuit are absolute rubbish, and such becomes immediately apparent when you actually look at comparisons like these.

This lawsuit looks to be a complete joke (like Erebus pointed out Ion Maiden comes from the spiritual prequel Bombshell so obviously little research was done). I just hope the devs behind Ion Maiden have enough cash in case this thing gets dragged out.

And no, Maiden of Mayhem wouldn't be any better (because lawyers can smell money from a mile away and there's just as good a chance the word mayhem could be used against them. In my opinion they should stick to their guns and fight this silly lawsuit... showing the world what a dying, irrelevant metal band looks like.
