Anything with a '555' code is fake. Next time you watch American movies watch out for this, they're everywhere (a good example is Ghostbusters. The original not the crap one). They use a fake code to stop people ringing these numbers so some poor sod doesn't get a ton of nuisance calls.

That reminds me of in Santa Clause 1 how they used an adult phone line as the number and kids called it and people got really upset.

Well... Just about everything. It is an actual exchange, and it has a couple of reserved usages, but 'yes' - anything you see on tv, in movies, games, etc. will be a fake number.
