And this one - is my first frigate that I'd made. Because the generator is standing up on this ship I decided to build a vertical ship and it works just fine as welll. And yes I've killed many cubes with it. xD

Cube shaped ships will always be the most efficient design in most' cases. That is just how it is, due to the ranges of attack in this game and how hull and armor placing works. Top, bottom, left, right and the way you can move your ship in this game.. Even hull and armor distribution means you can rotate your ship to mitigate coring/damage potential. Pilot skill is also important, as well as the level of the weapons and blocks. A highly leveled non cube will beat a non leveled cube.

the armor system would need to get completely over hauled to change it so your not needing to make cubes. every block has a damage reduction and some people found it out what did you expect.

I bet if you could connect armor pieces like you connect hull pieces, you would see less cube ships. People go cube because you can connect it on all sides so it stays together longer.

exactly ! were somehow to limited by connecting parts if all parts would be allow all connects we could see wonderful and more crazy ships.What i found out you can connect parts to some ships if you had a block that is allowed at that spot befor you removed another one just judge when you can remove a block or not. im not sure if that is leggit but it seemes to work for some people as i have seen ships havin blocks at parts that are normally not attaching there so they must have used that method using blocks to attach a block and removing the unneeded one later backwards leaving the one there when they are sticky . sounds confusing but seems workin sorry my english im not native goin at my limits explaining here lol. Seems the game stores where it was connected and leaves it connected that way like a invisible connection still in place while the physical body of the block is gone.

Its ok and I understood you fine. That is a current bug/exploit I believe. Because you can technically do it with armor too, although you are not supposed to. I just wish our armor blocks would be able to connect like hull blocks do so we can paint our ships and have interesting shapes.

People are just lazy designing a good looking ship and also wanto to have an easy game (hence the cubes everywhere). Design ship might not stand as long as a cube, but it looks so much better.

true we need more options to do that i c im hopin that the Devs find a way to give us that.
