Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is Tanki Online?

A: Tanki Online is an MMO where you control customized, futuristic tanks and engage other real players in battle in multiple arenas and battle modes.

Q: How can I customize my tank?

A: In Tanki Online, you combine a turret, hull, protection module and paint to customize your tank as you please.

There are currently 12 turrets, 7 hulls, and many protective modules in the game, all providing a different combination of protections against turrets. There are also many paints to choose from.

Additionally, every turret has Alterations that will allow you to customize its behavior to fit your playing style, and every piece of equipment (with the exception of paints) can be upgraded to make it more powerful.

Q: What are turrets and which ones can I choose from?

A: Turrets are weapons. Every turret in Tanki Online is unique and offers a very different kind of gameplay. For example, Freeze shoots a jet of ice to freeze opponents and slow them down, Shaft is a deadly sniper, and Isida can switch between the roles of DPS and healer.

The current line up of turrets is as follows:
Firebird, Freeze, Isida, Hammer, Twins, Ricochet, Smoky, Striker, Vulcan, Thunder, Railgun and Shaft.

Additionally, every turret has Alterations that will allow you to customize its behavior to fit your playing style.

Q: What are hulls and which ones can I choose from?

A: A hull is the body of your tank upon which you install your turret. Hulls have different handlings and hit points.

The current line up of hulls is as follows:
Wasp, Hornet, Hunter, Viking, Dictator, Titan and Mammoth.

For more info on hulls, check out our dedicated Wiki page: http://en.tankiwiki.com/Hulls

Q: What are Protection Modules?

A: Protection Modules give you a percentage of protection from turrets. For example, the Shark T-G Module will protect you against Ricochet, Striker and Thunder. The percentage of protection depends on how much you’ve upgraded the Protection Module.

Q: What are Paints?

A: Paints alter the appearance of your tank. While they are purely cosmetic, some paints are awarded as prizes for contests or eSports tournaments, and are considered highly prestigious.

Q: What kind of game modes are available in Tanki Online?

A: In Tanki Online, you can play Deathmatch mode, which is everyone against everybody else, or you can play Team Deathmatch, Control Points and Capture the Flag. These last three involve two teams battling it out against each other to achieve a goal.

There’s also a Parkour mode where players team up and try to get on top of buildings by using a creative combination of jumps, mines and shots. Parkour was originally created by the community, but due to its huge popularity in the game, Tanki Online developers decided to support it officially.

Q: What are Supplies?

A: Supplies are power-ups that you can either buy, or find in the arena. There are six supplies in all:

Repair Kit (repairs your tank), Double Armor (Doubles your tank’s armor for a limited amount of time), Double Damage (Doubles your tank’s damage for a limited amount of time), Speed Boost (speeds up your tank for a limited amount of time), Mine (plants an explosive mine that will detonate as soon as an enemy drives over it), and Gold Box (a special supply that drops from the sky and awards 1000 crystals to whoever catches it).

Supplies can be turned on or off in Pro Battles.

This FAQ has covered the very basics of what you need to know to play Tanki Online. However, the game has an extensive Help Site and hugely detailed Wiki, both of which are kept constantly updated by a team of dedicated volunteers. If you have any questions at all, the Help Site and Wiki will definitely hold the answers!

I would like to ask a question personally to Tanki Online Europe Ltd., if I may:
Are you an actual developer from Tanki Online / AlternativaPlatform, or are you just a Steam developer who has been appointed overseeing this game?
Thank chu in advance! :2015cookie:
