by having that name, this files under it, and sorry to say this but hey, you have to agree to these terms before you get to play.
then why do you just get banned for having an offensive name?
Cicada was a bug. GMCicada was originally belonging to Mabinogi. I can not add GM to my or any name. So by their rules one needs to be psychic about GM changes, memorize all Nexon employees and know that the rule applies to names without GM tag too?
well, you agree to the terms before you play, that's the problem, and in their eyes, your problem.
its not to memorize their names, it's that they can change it without notice.
I had an issue with Bethesda changing my signature and giving me a political warning for using a phrase that included the word 'trump' in it. The English word trump. It literally had nothing to do with politics but they banned the word entirely on the mere possibility of politics.
Get used to it. The company's terms literally give them blanket authorization to do whatever they want. It's like inviting someone to your house and letting them know that you make the rules. That's kind of EXPECTED. You can, for any reason whatsoever, declare their name is now Bobby and if they don't like it then they can just leave your house.
The issue is that to get that name, they had to pay 25$. For 1 month it was completely fine, including when they were playing side by side with GMCicada during Mushking Royale. The change occured without as much as an email shot to you.
even if they fought back for 25$ this is what get's them good, they can't, and won't, get a refund.
That's not entirely true. Mushking Royale was free to play, and your character from there transferred over when headstart launched. You didn't need to pay the $25 to reserve a name you already had during Mushking, only to play the headstart and reserve other names you wanted before the game officially launched.
Instead his basis for continuing the fight is "I'D WANT THAT NAME BECAUSE I RESERVED IT".
The name's gone, the reasons were given, and the player was compensated. Continuing to make this an issue means you're more concerned with the audacity of such a thing happening at all rather than realizing that this is what customer service is for -- mending mistakes.
You could not reserve a different name. Everyone got to reserve only 1 name before headstart. That being said before mushking came up and everyone got the news that F2P players can reserve a name too, founders pack included name reservation. Founders pack owners ended up creating their characters and competing for names good few weeks before mushking even launched. This is when NA-West Cicada reserved his name.
Founder's were able to reserve on August 14, Mushking Royale launched on August 22. His character was created on August 23, 2018. Therefore, I assume it was free.
Edit: It even says they "patiently waited for public name reservation."
That's not creation date. That's "last logged in" date.
My memories probably off, thought that was creation date, my apologies. Even then, it still says they waited for public name reservation.
Edit: Definitely creation date. Even though I'm not currently able to log into MapleStory, from the screenshots they gave, the date stayed the same even though they changed locations and leveled up.
