Grieving Mother not appearing at all in PoEII?
If this is the case, isn't she a sure sacrifice in the first game if you import save? Nothing will change except stat increase. Because I have tried to find info about this but it seems she has no effect at in in this game. Right?

PS: I mean theres no info about her even existing at all, evne in banthers, no matter if she dies or lives or her ending, or sacrificed and so on.

I read somewhere that you can buy a breastplate of hers or something in this game, this might be untrue?

You're talking about Devil of Caroc's breastplate, and no, I don't remember Grieving Mother being mentioned in this game at all.

Thank you for the reply man. Hopefully we can get some more information from some other people as well.

Even people that did her quest and imported the save haven't seen anything, FROM what iv'e read so far. Strange that she is the only character to not even have a tiny dialogue mentioning her from anyone.

I remember that everyone except us (the Watcher) sees her as a commoner or a nobody. All of the companions barely knew she existed, so it's less likely they would even recognize her.

It would have been nice if she somehow gave a letter to the Watcher regarding his/her decision of the Wheel at the end of Pillars 1, but I guess Obsidian were no different to our fellow companions when they made this game. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

She didn't have much of a story arc anyway except for her dreams and (lost) memories that were plaguing her. Once we put her mind to rest and solved the Hollowborn crisis, she had no reason to travel the world - she went back to her life as a midwife, no?

So there is no reason for her to travel the Deadfire Archipelago of all places, and since she never was an adventurer, it makes sense that there are no tales of her deeds.

I am not arguing against the devs reasoning for not adding her in Deadfire :) I am just curious IF shes actually in there somewhere. And if shes not well then shes going to be my sacrifice for the first game becasue then my saved file is the perfect one. I don't loose dialogue or content in Deadfire :)

BUT I want to be sure :)

There's a very real possibility given where she was born and how she was raised that she can't read or write.

But yeah :) she and Sagani end up being like two of the only companions who aren't even mentioned. Though I guess it makes the most sense for the two of them to be done with adventuring.

Sagani is mentioned once according to a post somewhere:

"Sagani: Mentioned by Aloth during an argument with the Watcher, where he brings up how she lost her way because of the watcher if you pushed Sagani against her traditions."
Du-Vu Feb 14, 2020 @ 7:13am
Oh, yeah? Nice. Never got that exact combination of rivaling a traditionalist Aloth while having gotten the bad ending for Sagani. I'm glad she at least gets mentioned, she was actually one of my low-key favourites in the first game.

Yeah for obvious reasons, the companions Chris avellone wrote like durance and grieving mother don't have a place in this game as he wasn't working with obsidian anymore.
Grieving mother especially because nobody knows who she was, even your own companions don't recognize her.

Sure grieving mother is great to sacrifice, but more notably the sacrifice bonus depends on who you sacrifice. Greiving mother's bonus is okay, but far from the best

Durance still gets mentioned a bunch of times, though, so I think it's more just the in-story reasons than Chris Avellone not being around to write her. Though it would be pretty hard to write in a character who no one remembered who often communicated primarily in telepathic images, as well.

Yeah but we just get a couple references to durance, not actually see him like we do manhea, aloth, pallegina, kana or Eder.

Eh. It's more than a couple, it's almost kind of a (minor) running joke with Eder and Aloth. Xoti can have that one vision of him, and he didn't have to show up during the Waidwen segment of Beast of Winter.

We don't see Sagani, Hiravias, or Zahua, either, and Durance gets more references than them. *shrug*

That's because Durance was a cranky old man. Also, his crankiness and strong devotion to Magran made him stand out in the Magran community, based on the other Magran folks commentary in the game. That said, I can see why he isn't in POE2, based on the events of POE1.

Here is someone that dug around to find dialogues and similar things depending on POE1

https://www.reddit.com/r/projecteternity/comments/9ndzgp/list_of_poe_1_save_outcomes_in_deadfire_spoilers/

Everyone is mentioned. Except he couldnt find ANYTHING on grieving mother, so if you are a someone that likes dialogue I guess she IS the best sacrifice. If I am wrong be sure to let me know.
