Gods of Eora: Who would you worship?

So there are a great many gods in Pillars of Eternity 2 and in my view quite a few of them embody traits that I would find worthy of worship.

Eothas the God of Light , Rebirth,and Redemption.

Magran: Goddess Of Fire, Trials, Change, and Punishment

Abydon: God of Persavation and the Forge.

Wael: the God of secrets and finding.

Hylea: Goddess Of Birds and Motherhood.

Galawain: God of Beasts, strife, and challenges

Berath: God/Goddess Of Life and Death, Reincarnation, and Cycles

And then we have those that either are unworthy or worship or possibly undeserving of it.

Skaen the God of Murder, Slaves, and Treachery

Woedica: Goddess Of Just Rule, Judgement, and Queen Of The Gods( actually a lot more likable in 2 then in 1)

Ondra: Goddess Of Forgetting and Water

Personally if I had to worship any of these gods then it would likely be Magran overall with Eothas, Woedica, Abydon, and Berath with Berath being my secondary choice of worship.

What about the rest of y’all? Which of these gods would you worship and why? Do their aspects speak to You in some way?

Since I am playing clerics only, it's a really nice topic for me. Probably Magran since "♥♥♥♥♥ doesn't need admiration, only to be paid for her services and with all the failings you'd expect of an empress and a ♥♥♥♥♥.".

I think you missed the point of the Engwithian pantheon. All of the gods represent some facet of humanity and you are expected to worship the one that you need help or wisdom from. You worship Magran when you are setting off to battle. You worship Skaen when you are plotting in secret to destroy your oppressor.

To ask people which gods they would consider worthy or unworthy of worship seems foolish.

Honestly I just can't stand that nihilistic disease cow. His very views are anathema to my own. Ondra's are only somewhat.

That argument only makes sense if you assume all aspects of humanity are equal. That itself is a separate argument, one which is far more complicated. And even then, each person would surely place different weight on a different aspects of humanity.

That said, they are all soul sucking fakes, so ♥♥♥♥ 'em.

The fact that they're fakes makes me dislike them all, but then again, it's been told that there really are no real gods in this franchise. Though before all of that was revealed on PoE1, my character was a Priest of Berath.

All these gods are weak, Eothas was the only one of them with any backbone. i would destroy their followers, carve a path of ash and tears through the world, and slay even the gods after I had starved them of worshippers, and gathered my own cult.
In the end, there would be only me, the Last God, Deliverer of Life and Death, and my followers broken up into warring clans, their sciences and weapons of war constantly advancing, until the very Void would become mine.

Rymrgand is against reincarnation, is enemy of any form of existence. This deity want destroy movement, annihilate the stupidity of humans, gods (symbol and fault of humans, with same absurd nature) in order to waeken suffering among livings.

Absolute rest. Such domain, entropy, is victory without pride. It is like a brutal condemn of life, and eulogy of death. In fact, Rymrgand say in PoE 1 and PoE 2 several times phrases about mercy and the importance.

For instance: "if I was not the merciful creature that I am..." * When the Watcher is in the Realm of Rymrgand because the experiment of animancy and teletransportation suffer a mistake.


People that think about Rymrgand "is nihilism in form of cow" tend to be friendly with reductionisms in order to avoid analyze formally. In my opinion this god is the most wise and merciful, knowing about what absurd is the experiment of engwithans (the dream, utopia), and that perpetuate gangrene is perpetuate repetitions on the same subject. Noise, movement and pain. So Rymrgand philosophy is more deep that some individuals want pretend. Of the pantheon, his ideas remember me things I read of Mainländer, Cioran, Gracián and others great minds.

The god I hate is Berath. Movement, reincarnation, cicles, noise inside and outside. Enemy of silence and calmness. No matter, time devour all and time is ally of Rymrgand.

And Magran, conflict without limits (code of honour or moral), this fire fear the ice (like Wael and Galawain, and judging by the guide and lore, other deities too), is not a bright flame.
