Is the Obsidian edition worth the extra price?
Has anyone played the DLC and is it any good? Or are they basically just filler side missions that dont have much to do with the main story?

I would like to know if I bother getting the Obsidian edition or just stick to the base game.

Thanks guys, ok i guess ill go for obsidian. cause I know that in tyranny the DLCs were totally disconnected from main plot, might as well have been standalones. And I had heard that the POE1 DLC were sort of the same. doesnt link back or transfer to main plot, just independent side quests. Im glad to hear its different in POE2
Well... I'll just inform you that The Forgotten Sanctum DLC is the DLC that really connects to the main story of PoE2: Deadfire while The Beast of Winter mostly connects a tiny bit of the main story and some history before PoE1 even started.

This explains what you're most likely getting when you start playing the DLCs:

The Beast of Winter
  • More Lore to the History of Kith
  • More Fights and Items
The Seeker, Slayer, Survivor
  • More Fights and Items
  • yea... that's it
The Forgotten Sanctum
  • Additional main story plot
  • More Lore to the History of a god
  • More Lore to the History of Eora in general
  • More Fights and Items

Knowing that you're not into PoE1's DLC just for its disconnection to the main story regardless of how it still remains the best DLC to the PoE series imo, The Forgotten Sanctum DLC is most likely your only bet for getting the experience you wanted.

The Seeker, Slayer, Survivor DLC is the only one that feels like a filler. The rest expands in world building.

Nice, do they take place somewhere mid-game or is it endgame? and does it expand on the main plot or are they branching side missions. Like companion missions and such.

They expand upon the main game, mid game. Harbingers watch can be done as early as when you first get your ship, but unless you have level scaling turned on it'll be too high or level. Forgotten sanctum and the other one are unlocked once you hit act 3, and forgotten sanctum even adds alternative endings to the main game, as it's advertised as a "weapon" to kill eothas. The seeker slayer survivor dlc is just an island of arena fights with unique mechanics

DLC were some of my favourite questlines in the game. I'd say it's worth it. Basically expands the mid-to-late game, and each has a story involving a different god, so they're sort of connected to the main story, but not entirely. Beast of Winter is connected to the first game as well.

Seeker, Slayer, Survivor DLC is mostly based on arena fighting, but also takes you back into the Deadfire for some item searching missions and adds a bit to the story, too.

That was extremely helpful thank you, I went ahead and bought the full package.
Together with DOS2 as a bonus :)
