SPOILERS! YOU ARE WARNED! Annoyance regarding the ending
I have to say, I am really annoyed by the fact that it (atleast as far as I can see) is impossible to stop Eothas from destroying the wheel :(
I wanted to save the cycle of reincarnation. *deep sigh*

Yes. I choose option 1 to make Eothas changed his mind about destroying the wheel. In the end, he still destroyed it. Not sure where i done wrong.

You didn't do anything wrong. You are being told over and over again by many characters, both directly and subtly, that Eothas cannot be stopped. The gods themselves cannot stop him, so how would a mortal be able to? Eothas has tried to reveal the true nature of the gods many times over, and this time he succeeded.

For PoE3, the gods will have to come up with a solution with the help of Kith, or else they die out with them. Reforge the wheel, make some other device that seeds the world with souls through re-incarnation, let the world die... the PC will certainly have many options in that game.

In this, one, though... the end result is largely inevitable. Depending on who you side with and some other choices, the end results are slightly different - but no matter what you do, the wheel is broken.

There are plenty of discussions on this topic on this and other forums, and many are unhappy that it does not matter much what you do in terms of Eothas' journey through the Deadfire. I think it is fair to say that the main storyline is the least interesting part of the game.

Yeah, in my opinon was the best part of the game the first DLC story and the last DLC story.
(didn't like the arena)
However, I just wish there was SOMETHING you could have done, convinced him to not destroy the weel, finding a "mcguffin" that maybe forced eothas out of the body, anything really.

Damn. I see now. Feels like the story is really uninteresting compared to PoE1. Now i can only look forward to PoE3.

I assume that the whole "breaking the wheel" thing will be an important part of PoE3.
I mean it probably is the main focus, would be likely.
I am quite hopefull for PoE3 (if that becomes a thing I REALLY hope it becomes a thing, please tell me it is a thing)

You have control over the factions in the deadfire, but no control over the cosmic events regarding the gods. Plus the ending slides imply that the gods will all be vying for power and come to the watcher in the future. So the third game will obviously heavily revolve around the fact that the wheel is destroyed . If you stopped him , then there is no third game

The dev's are apparently hopeful of returning to the series in the future. What's your current life expectancy?

Mine is apparently 78. :( Hope I could make it.

Well, PoE 2 is much less about story than choices within the Deadfire archipelago - and about being a first class witness/observer of the events involving Eothas.
