VTMB has nothing to do with it. Different teams, different characters, different plots. I highly doubt that he will appear and that is for the better.
For example... Some people see Soul Eaters as Canon others not. Some see the 5th Malestrom as being full canon other not. The Week of Nightmares may or may not have happened.
Cats may be a type of Vampire, they may not. Brujah and Gangrel could be still in the Camarilla or not.
Canon in Classic World of Darkness is what ever you want it to be. Hell Julian Luna could be Canon if you wish him to be.
Bloodlines 2 is being based on Vampire 5th Edition, which overhauled the canon of Vampire to bring it into 2018 (and later) and thus ignores the events of Time of Judgement.
So Redemption is canon in Bloodlines and Bloodlines 2. Bloodlines should be canon ONLY in Redemption. And Bloodlines 2 should NOT be canon to Bloodlines and Redemption. Think of it as two separate timelines with a LOT of RPG books and novels filling in the gaps.
Redemption>Bloodlines>End of the world
Redemption>Bloodlines 2
I would love to meet Christof in bloodlines 2, it would be so amazing to see how he's changed. Aneska is another possibility, no spoilers as I dunno if youve completed redemption, but her character ark is very interesting.
Oh, and redemption is definately canon.
There's also other more practical excuses to not include Christof like how the game ends in New York, and VtmB2 takes place in Seattle.
Canon with tabletop rpgs is really hard to definitively nail down because of how it's more a setting and not a full plot driven narrative, all stories are supposed to be set apart from each other. It's more of a question of if they'll even bother to remember Redemption existed or not.
I definitely agree with you, seeing how Christof and Aneska progress as characters would be very interesting to see. And I've completed redemption a good dozen or more times.
This game is never mentioned or credited in Bloodlines 1 as well, so I srsly doubt it will get any mention in BL2
That being said, I love this game very much, all characters are awesome (well, maybe Serene is too bleak) and I find the romantic drama spanning hundreds of years to be amazing.
Graphics are dated, but whatever.
Once every few years I fire this and Bloodlines 1 up just because they are awesome games.
-Therese and Jeanette are canon as well (they show up in 5th edition)
-Nines Rodriguez is too. They call him Armando Rodriguez in Beckett's diary.
-Of course, Jack and Beckett are canon as well.
Where i'm going with this is that, as of right now, both games are technically canon. Or at least the characters.
