I have similar specs, i7-7700k, 16 gb ram, and a 2070 super, and I get mostly 144 fps (some dips) on 2560x1440 resolution. So you have some sort of issue somewhere if your fps is that low on 1080p.
Do you notice any issues in other games, or is it in witch it only? Feel free to add me on Steam if you need help troubleshooting.
I dont typically have issues with other games, honestly I am getting better performance in MW than Witch It. I was not sure if this was just something quirky with the early access. By all means the game is perfectly playable it just seems like for the size of the maps, texture quality and effects it should be running better. Any suggestions to try? I was thinking of trying the force dx9 string and see how that affects things.
Hey. Here are some things you can experiment with to try and improve your performance.
1) Turn off V-sync
2) navigate to your Witch It install folder. This should be on your hard drive under Program files - Steam - Steamapps - common - Witch It. Now find that Witch It exe and right click it. Go to properties and go to the compatibility tab. Check the box that says "disable fullscreen optimizations".
3) Also same as above, try going to Properties -> Compatibility -> "Change High DPI settings" on the bottom and check "Override high DPI scaling behavior".
4) Try using the "Manage 3d settings" option within the Nvidia control panel. See link for reference:
https://www.nvidia.com/content/Control-Panel-Help/vLatest/en-us/mergedProjects/nv3d/Manage_3D_Settings_(reference).htm
Add Witch It.exe if you don't already see it from the pull down list and try changing a few variables:
Power management mode - set to Prefer maximum performance
Threaded optimization - turn on
Low Latency Mode - turn on (if using older drivers, this will be called pre-rendered frames instead, in that case try setting it to '1')
See if any of these things help.
