Hey Dragitsune,

Witch It is inspired by Garry's Mod and similar titles, yet aims to try and expand on the prop hunt concept by bringing a range of new ideas to the genre. If you've ever watched a YouTube video or stream about it, you'll see the game plays much differently to its inspirations; Witch It features unlockable skills, account progression, tons of character customisation, and utilises the UE4 engine for dynamic prop movement and much more!

Both teams have a bunch of skills that can be used to get an advantage over the opposite team, depending on the players playstyle and tactics. For example, a Witch player that prefers moving around the map rather than picking one spot may have the 'fly' skill enabled in order to reach higher areas of the maps and quickly escape from the Hunters, while a player that prefers to hold one position may use the 'decoy' skill to trick the Hunters into thinking they are elsewhere! Hunters also have a range of skills, all with their own benefits and drawbacks to keep gameplay fresh and unpredictable!

Alongside skills, players are also rewarded with items that can be used to customise the appearance of the Witches and Hunters. XP is granted for winning rounds and collecting 'magic dust' (collectibles that appear during rounds that reward the players for moving around the map or getting kills), which is also used for unlocking items (milestone rewards). Although functional, this feature is still very much in the early stages, as the developers want to eventually integrate a wider range of collectibles and some form of 'crafting' which can be used to create new items and clothing.

Workshop is also on the way soon, but there are still plenty of maps (featuring lots of prop rotations) to explore and hide on. BRG are working full-time on brand new content that is sure to please any avid prop hunt player!

If that doesn't take your interest, then I'm afraid this game isn't for you. Hope this helps!

So the short and oversimplified answer: yes
But really, the game is similar but different. Both games are based on the same premise, but they really do play differently.
