Does this one run well under Linux?
First of all, I love Zachtronics Games. They really f***ck your brain up (in a good way) :-)
I own TIS100, SpaceChem, Shenzen I/O and Ironclad Tactics.

However, I really have not played the Ironclad Tactics because no matter what I tried (and I tried a lot like using my native mono installation, playing around with the mono configuration, ...) I could not get it to run on Linux.

So my question: Does this run natively (using something like SDL, ....) or does this also run under mono (aka NET) and will probably not work at all under linux? Any linux users out there? I run debian somewhere between buster and sid.

Best Regards,
Bernhard

It seems to use mono but I am not sure about it.
There are three executables. File identifies the types as:
Lightning.bin.x86: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, interpreter /lib/ld-linux.so.2, for GNU/Linux 2.6.32, BuildID[sha1]=06e71c96b598d37930ec65ba80d2dd52e4b93792, with debug_info, not stripped Lightning.bin.x86_64: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, interpreter /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2, for GNU/Linux 2.6.32, BuildID[sha1]=3a8a864d0d6d2ae12bbed4100ba4151a40f1c1e3, with debug_info, not stripped Lightning.exe: PE32 executable (GUI) Intel 80386 Mono/.Net assembly, for MS Windows
So there seems to be a native 32bit version, a native 64bit version and a mono version.
Starting Lightning.bin.x86_64 works but upon further investigation it seems like it lauches Lightning.exe.

SHENZEN I/O uses the same setup so if that works Opus Magnum will probably work as well.

I use debian sid and have no problems playing the game.

Every single game from Zachtronics uses Mono and runs natively and without any problems whatsoever.

@pathim: Thanks for the Info. I suppose I'll give it a try then. If it does not run i can make use of Steams return policy.

@BlaXpirit: Thank you for your reply. TIS100, SpaceChem, Shenzen I/O run perfect for me, but no matter what I do I cannot get Ironclad Tactics to run on the same machine. I have to boot Windows in order to play it, which I do not like at all :-(

@alterratz: this game run fine under Linux, but not every linux :( Opus Magnum have few problems with OpenGL driver. Shenzen I/O have the some problemm so if Shenzen is running on your system Opus Magnum will work too

I find that it crashes or locks if I switch away from its workspace too much, but other than that it's been rock solid.
