KYOTO TANOJI QUEST is a pretty neat free to play RPG. I recommend anyone interested try it, even if it does seem pretty niche.

But really though, this game is better played in Japanese.

At least it's free.

Seems far more like the framework for a game than an actual game. Like someone playing around in RPG creator trying to make NPCs and an Earthbound-ish combat system, but then never got around to making an actual game with it.
