Which one is better to start? Katakana War or Hiragana Battle?
Hi. I have the both games for quite a while now but never bothered up "experiencing" them. Which one is the best one to start learning?

My instincts go for playing the first one released, Hiragana Battle.

Thanks.

The both games are independant enough to start with either. But I recommend starting with Hiragana battle.

Thanks.
From a studying point of view: If you aren't familiar with ひらがな. I would start with Hiragana. Katakana afterwards.

Hiragana first, Katakana second. The Katankana game is the better of the two but the sequence you play them in does make a difference... in my personal opinion.

Katakana is the best game. I got bored of the first. Although I'm not sure it would be smart to learn Katakana before Hiragana since Katakana is only used for foreign words and such while Hiragana is what is mostly used. Anyway, like others said, it's best to learn Hiragana first but that game can get boring after a while. This one was really fun.

Played not much for now (though I'm not the beginner in studying Japanese language... in the same time I know it only on 1%. Katakana is better technically: better system, music (as for me) and so on. Hiragana doesn't have good system comparing to Katakana... but it does have its own charm. I guess it's up to you, OP, from which game to start... because of the better system Katakana is easier to play :sickslashit2:... Yeah, and also - what BadEnd said...

Yea, I'll probably start with Hiragana, thanks!
I had the same question) But I answered it differently for myself XD I still don't get it why everyone learns Hiragana at first :ooh: Katakana looks so much easier, isn't it logical to start the learning process 'from easier to more difficult parts' + if K is less used, again I find it right to finish with H which I'll use more often. dunno, maybe I'm missing smth. I'm gonna start playing H, we'll see if I change my mind)

Hehe, nice. I hope you can learn it well! I know you can! ♥

I didn't had the time to play/experience these games yet. They look good and fun as well, I should try sometime or another.

Like 85% in japanese are borrow from other languages, Hiragana you need to know only if you want to say something in japanese like Good morning or phrases in japanese, if you want to know about name of objects and things learn Katakana, simple like that...

Even if the bulk of what you read is in Kanji or Katakana, Hiragana is used in Japanese particles, which are rather important to the structure of the langauge. Certain Hiragana characters such as 'to', 'ni', 'no', or 'masu' (these are just a few examples) are appended to the end of words as 'particles' to indicate the word's role within the sentance. Being able to read and pronounce those is important, and particles are always written in Hiragana.

I haven't played the games (yet), so I don't know how much of the actual language and sentance structure these games are teaching. I do advise you make a point of learning Hiragana however. It is needed.
