In any case, I also do game development and modding work and that's a big part of why I'm not willing to buy this game while Gameguard remains in place. In theory it probably shouldn't matter if as long as Helldivers 2 isn't running at the time, but with all the reports of compatibility problems I don't trust it not to cause problems even when I'm not playing the game.
Even disregarding trust issues... the biggest problem is that the second you open Helldivers/GG, who knows what processes may have been modified until you reboot and can cause unintended side-effects.
