Failed to connect to the update server?
I keep getting this message from GameGuard. What's the issue? Anyone else getting this?

mine was doing it today aswell. looked into it, and for me atleast Kaspersky AV/AM detects it as a high threat rootkit. even links NIST documentation stating that the program cannot be trusted, and is blocked by their cloud services completely, i had to set a custom rule, mainly that prevents execution of memory at the kernel level and actively monitors the ports it opens. this slowed down my computers greatly but i can play it now. they really should get NIST verifications / certifications if the security holes have been patched. personally, im considering, doing a hard reset and installing this game on a VM so that it has no direct access to R0. intrusive is an understatement. as process watcher on the KSP version shows that its actively blocking a keylogger from executing. please refer to kasperskys website on known threats for more information. they have this rootkit as high threat.

I also have kaspersky. How did you add the custom rule if I can ask. Been having this issue for ages, thinking of buying the game again.

Every time I restart my PC or the game gets updated this happens to me. The only way I've been able to get around it is delete the game guard files from the bin folder, verify the game files, takes 10-15min to get them verified, turn off my firewall and launch the game and make sure the permissions window comes up for game guard. This makes it extremely tedious to even launch the game, especially considering that I have to force quit steam to get Helldivers 2 to stop running. I think it is well beyond time that they consider removing Game Guard and getting something that actually functions well like Easy Anti-Cheat.

Welp. this is actually helped me. Deleting all files related to anicheat - redownloading missing files - letting anticheat to download its files from scratch somehow works
But updating anticheat does not works.
Install game to SSD to hasten your startup time from 30min to 5min. Modern gaming doing wonders now.

Necroposting but I have a new avenue that everybody can investigate:

Check if you are using a Killer Network adapter (very popular among gaming machines), if so, start the Killer Intelligence Center and turn off the Prioritization Engine and Auto Bandwidth.

As always, Killer hardware is good, their software is utter trash. I wasn't only getting GameGuard errors, I had problems connecting to ANYTHING using SSL including Cargo repos, GitHub, PowerShell Gallery etc. and it was driving me nuts.
Some deep, deep research finally yielded this result that fixed the problem in my case. Re-check the setting whenever there's a new Killer Software update since they like to revert it to the default. Never trust anybody to have some sort of magic software optimization algorithms for hardware challenges. ;)
