Cheater in My Game

Someone cheated in my game. When we extracted it said we had thousands of samples. 3 of my team members had normal numbers of samples but one person (with a kanji script name) had the remaining thousands. I reported them ingame with the report feature (although they said nothing in chat). I blocked them too.

I didnt spend any samples after I noticed that we received more samples then we should have. Can the devs just take those samples out of my inventory? Hard to tell you are in a group with a cheater until the very end :(

Funny, because this is literally one of the reasons the FAQ says they added this anti-cheat software this time around.

Hey Charlotte, maybe for the future when it happend again, backup your savegame after each successfull mission and if a cheater infected your progress you can restore the file.

I don't own this game right now, but in Helldivers1 there was a option to delete all progress... i dont think you will find a developer to edit your savegame... or isnt this file stored in your local PC? Then maybe deactivate Steam Cloud savings for this game.

I just ran into a cheater with a full auto rocket launcher so yeah 10/10 anti cheat

There are already reports including videos of people:
a. Being invincible
b. Having infinite ammo and high rate of fire with recoiless
c. Having thousands of samples at the end of mission
d. Exploit an ingame bug to equip same stratagems multiple times
So much for the anticheat. I was in support of it, but it clearly is not working as expected

Thank you for the replies. I think all of the save files are on Steam Cloud and I am not sure how to back up save files. After one of the patches I did have to reinstall Helldivers 2 in order to make it run again and I still had retained my level, inventory and save.

It just sucks. I don't get why you would want to cheat in this game. I would think it would be less fun if everything was handed to you instead of working for it. Now everyone that played with the cheater has all these samples. So I can't legitimately earn new samples (I'm maxed out) and I don't want to spend any samples I do have on ship upgrades.

I tried to join the Helldivers 2 Discord to see if I could get some help there but they have paused invites. So I feel stuck and unsure what to do next.

I highly doubt anyone will remove the samples from your account, the cheater probably does that every game, that means, if he only played 10 games there are already 30 people with more samples.
The developers probably can't manually remove all those samples from every account, since this isn't the only cheater out there.

This is just my opinion, maybe they can do something about it, I wish you the best of luck.

What I can say for sure: This anti-cheat failed.

Pretty much. The Drm is just there to protect their MTX not the players

The irony is, having this kind of anti-cheat probably just inspires people to cheat more to prove that they can.

Like that person who hacked the samples 100% did it to prove a point, since the developer shared a story about how someone did that in the first game and that's why they wanted to include anti-cheat. Samples barely even do anything anymore.

Its literally just there to protect the MTX, All anticheats can be bypassed and they all take time to bypass, even valorants gets bypassed constantly despite it being one of the best.

A cheater just loot 1280 sample in my game, this is terrible, peoples can't play like everyone and take pleasure by make this in a legit way ?

I just encountered a cheater too. He had more than 4000 Rare samples while everyone else had 2 or 3. He also had no cool down on his sprint and just ran around the map destroying everything on Hard!

Capping the samples was a good idea by the devs. At first i though it was a bug and but after the 2nd match everyone realized that dude was a cheater an left. it seemed like he was trying to gain levels. Im wondering if the servers are being overloaded by bots auto leveling characters to max so they can sell them or use them in some shady net cafe?
