nProtect somehow erased my data
So, after some sessions, my PC decided to reboot itself in mid-playing Helldivers 2.

After I checked all Windows logs, apparently nProtect decided to block some programms in my PC but that was just my driver's for second GPU... And my PC went in reboot. And now, I can't work with it, because Windows dont see this driver's now.

After re-install, all worked back as it was.
But for now, sadly, I will stop playing this game, until this bad korean anti-cheat (for co-op game wow) removed.

Also did you know:
"nProtect Netizen, nProtect Personal and nProtect Keycrypt are programs used mostly for internet banking in Korea. They are programmed to terminate processes that are not associated with banking, but processes are terminated indiscriminately if they are deemed a threat and thus may compromise a system's stability. These programs also inject themselves into all existing processes from startup, and sometimes collide with other anti-viruses. More problematically, Korean banks do not update their program every time INCA releases an update." - Wikipedia.

I played 43 hours in HD and have zero problems with this anti-cheat and others Korean anti-cheat too.. So, EAC have similar problems on some PC (like a same problems on some PC with nProtect)

I'm starting to think that this is general paranoia about rootkit-s and other things, i've been playing for years with different anti-cheats and never had any problems with the CPU or system

1 small issue, nProtect have bad rep among AC's. EAC at least have more clear work, plus its more common and works almost always good. Yeah, I know EAC is same kernel0 AC, but its properly coded. I didnt run any issues with a lot of games that had EAC.

I had problems with this nProtect on my other PC when i was playing Undecember on my other account. Its literally 2 games witn nPGG and 2 diff PC that I had issues.

Its not ok.

Same, I played 76 hours and had maybe 3 crashes related to GameGuard (one actually confirmed with logs). Devs are constantly patching game and the anti-cheat to improve them.

At one point I had installed EAC, GGuard and PunkBuster at the same time. Nothing bad happened to OS or hardware on my PC.

I have 1 crush during all this time, but this happened because the game did not load some models in warbound, btw, if GG anti-cheat is so bad.. This is a really big problem and people who paid money for this game have the right to complain about it

The Dev's have nothing to do with the Anti-Cheat programme, that's all down to NProtect so the Dev's for Helldivers 2 have nothing to do with it. It will stay until Sony say to remove it, and we all know what Sony are like. I did stop playing the game a few days ago due to errors popping up and my Graphics Card failing mid game. I un-installed the game and NProtect Gameguard, which btw still leaves folders on your system even though the game uninstall says it removes them, which it does not, you need to manually remove them.

I did however give the game another try yesterday, and the same thing happened again, my GC says it failed, but yet no other game does this. So I removed the game and the NPGG folders yet again, and now system is fine, no crashes no fails. This game will stay in my games list until NProtect is removed.

In any case, the feeling is that it depends on a combination of factors such as: is it Windows 11 or 10, AMD or Intel, etc.. But it's just my opinion

Anyway, if I don't have problems, then I'm lucky to have some immunity

Word of caution. Just because you don't have problems currently doesn't mean you won't have problems down the line. Fairly sure nPGG bricked my SSD back when I played PSO2 NA release back in 2020. Played for about a month till my SSD just died out of nowhere.

And yes.. I noticed that some of the files remained in the game folder, but it's just a garbage i think, btw.. This is all very bad

I deleted the game and will wait until it has an normal anti-cheat and technical condition is not like Cyberpunk 2077

Normally I'd think my issue was maybe just my SSD finally dying or something but so the thing was is that I do a lot of pretty hardware intensive stuff like 3D rendering and currently neural network generations and training and as far as video games go I've pushed things really hard with unoptimized games like more recently, Ready Or Not and never had I had any pieces of hardware fail out of the blue like that.

On top of this, I've now interacted with 4 different people regarding Helldivers 2 that have had older systems, never had BSODs before and then coincidentally start having them while playing Helldivers 2 on top of hardware being taxed like absurd temperatures and then hardware bricked as well. There are also reports of peoples PCs going all weird after GameGuard updates.

I actually hadn't realized it all this time until now that nPGG may have been the culprit because also until now I had no idea nPGG was what PSO2 utilized as, at the time, my friend kinda badgered me into playing it with them.

It's just becoming really painfully clear to me that on top of all this, with nPGG's dodgy record that it's to blame here. Could be wrong of course but circumstantially it's very compelling at this point.

As I've said to people, there are plenty playing the game without issues so they're more than welcome to roll the dice for the time being, maybe it goes well for them!
