Is using Vulkan API bannable?
The game runs like cheeks for me on Linux so I replaced DX11 with Vulkan to improve performance by around 70%.

I basically added "DX11 to Vulkan" which routes the DX11 version to be instead launched with the Vulkan, it changes nothing else and is just a few MB .dll file.

no, i don't think so

the fact that people used modded files to unlocked the mech before they were released and get no consequence at all is proof that they just want to protect their in-game microtransaction store.

nProtect is borderline useless

Proton should be converting all the Dx11/DX12 rendering into Vulkan anyhow so not sure if the game will respond.

Proton doesn't modify anything with the game so there shouldn't be any "cheating" issues attached.

I don't think they care how you draw your lines, you're probably fine
So, did you end up going through with it? Were you banned?

I was not banned, when you get DX11 to Vulkan files you have to put --use-d3d11 in Steam's Launch Options, I went from 70-80 to 120 FPS.

Is proton/vulkan conversion available on windows? I wanna try it cause my GPU doesn't support DX 12. So it might let me play at 30 fps at least lol

Yes, it works the same. but you have less incentive to use it on Windows.

TBH HD2 runs better on linux on average, and that anticheat garbage has no access to anything.

Your discord won't crash, your liquid cooler pump won't be shut down and etc... Linux gaming was never more appealing
