I wanted to know if I bind a macro to activate Stratagems, will it potentially trigger the anti-cheat?

Does it count as cheating or just seen in poor taste?

It's not up to you to decide. The developers have to decide what is blocked, what is scanned and what falls under cheats.

I actually don't think they have that much control over it from a technological standpoint. Pretty sure these anticheat programs are kind of just sold as a package product.

Anyway, like I said, I'm against anticheat and I don't think this should be blocked, but I do think it goes against the "spirit" of the game.

You can't easily recognize macro entries. It is simply not possible to determine with certainty whether the keyboard input came from a player or was already pre-programmed in the form of macros.

And blocking macro programs makes no sense since there are hundreds of them. Apart from that, the programs are not there for macro control only, but are often part of the mouse/keyboard controls and/or control of RGB effects and energy saving mode.

No, Macros won't trip the anti-cheat. I've been using them myself and had the privilege to be the 9000th person to get a score of 999999999 on the Stratagem minigame.

It depends. Some (most?) macro software runs "high up" in a system and is relatively easy to intercept.

Something like actual ♥♥♥ software (which obviously has similarities in that input is given to a game) tends to be dug in deeper to avoid detection/blocking.

Hardware solutions (gaming mouse / keyboard / stream deck) ARE a physical input device so there is no obvious way for the rootkit virus to tell that it is being naughty.
That's when the devs actually have to work and record/track the timing of key presses to determine if someone is inhumanely fast, accurate and consistent. ;)

I guess I’ll have to add a delay to the macro to make sure it doesn’t get picked up

Macros have never been blocked by any game I have ever played. Most macros are running in protected space where the game and anti-cheat have no idea they are even there. I have played at comp level in a number of games and no one worried about macros, since they only do what you can do, just more consistently and more easily.

Also, there are many disabled/challenged people that absolutely depend on macros to even be able to be productive and play games.

Nope, macros work just fine in this. I use them all the time. It's possible the game's anti-cheat will prevent it from launching if your using some kind of banned macro software, but if your using built-in macros with your keyboard which 90% of gaming keyboards have, they wouldn't be able to detect it anyway even if they wanted to prevent it.

Also apparently this game's anti-cheat is such garbage even cheatengine (pre-school for cheaters) works on it. So they wasted their time using one.
