nProtect maybe breaks the game when it crashes (plus a few other issues/bugs I ran into)

1 - all issues I have had, 2- issue I was dealing with while writing this 3 - everything I did trying to get the game to run simplified.

1- I am playing on my crappy laptop (no access to PC at the moment). I do have a cheat program (WeMod) that doesn't even work on Helldivers 2. Game ran ok for a bit (game froze and crashed when first trying to customize my character's armor. Also several times the game started windowed and it's a pain trying to change setting when you forget to apply a setting you need to hit Tab, if you try to cancel out of it in any way it keeps the settings you chose but doesn't apply them and if the size of the game window changes it cuts off all the buttons on the bottom of the screen you need to hit to do stuff like Tab to apply the settings). Game crashed basically every time I started a mission (ran around the ship, selected mission, loaded mission then game crashes as the drop pod smashes into the ground). Had the game working for a bit after changing my graphics to as low as possible.



2-Game did the usual crash (drop pods hitting ground then game dies) but now all I get when trying to start the game is Error Code 114. I verified integrity of game cache, restarted my laptop, uninstalled/reinstalled the game and verified integrity of the game cache and all I get is an error code when trying to start the game up. I have nothing else running besides whatever came with my laptop.

I then found the 2 nProtect things running in my task manager under Background Processes. I shut them down and the game now starts. Looking at them now with the game running they are nProtect Game Monitor (X64) Rev 299 and nProtect Game Monitor Rec 2697 (32 bit).



3- So series of events in total:
Load into game but crashes when the drop pod touches the ground

Try to start up game get Error Code 114

Verify integrity of game cache, start up game and get Error Code 114

Restart (accidentally hit shut down instead of restart), start up Steam, hit play for Helldivers 2 and get Error Code 114

Verify integrity of game cache, start up game and get Error Code 114

Uninstall Helldivers 2 and install Helldivers 2. Hit play to start up the game and get Error Code 114

Go into task manager hit End Process of I believe one of the two files (nProtect Game Monitor (X64) Rev 299 or nProtect Game Monitor Rec 2697 (32 bit)) which ended both, hit play for Helldivers 2 and finally started one mission (I quit because I had some other things going on).
