I feel like the issue is less "GameGuard is kernel level" and more "GameGuard is genuinely bad at doing its job".
its fine if you cant uninstall nProtect from your computer if a game installs with it. its not actively taking a process (as far as I can see in task manager when HD2 is closed) so its not slowing things down.
and 3 or 4 people have problems that gameguard shuts steam and discord down.
Let me say this so you understand.
WE DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ANTI CHEAT (atleast most dont) WE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT BEING NGUARD.
Like how dense do you have to be to not read posts about issues with nguard and all you boot lickers going "lol they cheaters and mad".
Cant wait till you and everyone else get bored of HD2 uninstall it then start seeing that nguard hasnt removed itself...
nProtect GameGuard is notorious for being way more invasive than it has any right to be (main two examples are active keylogging and full scans of file structure. Don't believe the dev's claims against it, as there are clearly shown cases of it doing just in other games), while also being extra ineffective at doing what it's meant to do (note that the devs say for you to turn off your antivirus as a possible fix for it not launching, and there's already examples of people using cheats). There's even examples of users disabling it without the game even noticing (from personal experience, BnS users do it to use mods as well as genuine combat hacks), and I oddly wouldn't be surprised if the techniques they use can be used on Helldivers 2.
nProtect needs to be told to shut off, so if the game crashes or otherwise doesn't close cleanly, it'll stay active and continue scanning your system in an invasive manner.
I guess that makes sense. Believe me I hope they remove it but I've just been having a lot of fun and when I close HD2 and play other games I don't notice anything. Though I feel really bad for the X7000 users. Kind of forgot the name of it but you get who I'm referring to.
However.... its Sony brand headphones. which for this game is hilarious to me.
Yeah but one could be more freakin harmful than the other, genius
I'm fine with gameguard but here's hoping they remove it because that seems to be the only issue players are having and it'd be awesome to have more people play.
