every small update the game patches all of its 50 gigs, only game that does this and usually is about 1/4 of the speed as all my other downloads, anyone know why it does this

its slowed down to 400 kbps when its peak is 450 mbps

the download is not slow, the patcher is godawful at processing. It barely uses any CPU ressources at all , and only reaches IO throughputs at about 20 mb/sec maximum (on a m2 pice express 980 samsung), mostly its around 7 to 8 mb/sec processing the files while patching. Estimated processing time for the files stands at over 2 hours!!! ARGH.
Tried setting steam.exe to high priority but that didnt change anything.

Plenty of games do this. Take a look at Icarus, it's even SLOWER to update on PCIE m.2

Downloads are handled by Steam, that much I know, so the speed issue is with your Steam region/server(s). Helldivers 2 "patches" a lot because of the anticheat, presumably, it keeps downloading files at (almost?) every launch.
