Bug where STEAM is unable to close Helldivers

After exiting Helldivers 2 from in-game menu or when force-stopping the game due to other issues via STEAM, the game does not fully close. I can't seem to find it on task manager, but force exiting steam seems to be the only way to fully end the session.

About 80-hours played and am only experiencing this issue now.

Could be related, but also noted that STEAM profile name changes no longer sync with the game too.

Not sure if there's something overall that's now preventing the game from properly communicating with STEAM.

thats the anti cheat software causing that

yeah this happens to me from time to time, when i open task manager there was 2 process relating to helldivers 2 and one looked like a crash handler, i can't remember the name off the top of my head but i think the error report is triggered but it doesn't show on screen or in the taskbar, i have to force close the app through the task manager, (CRTL+SHIFT+ESC).

Calm down. I was just reporting a bug that I recently noticed and the associated symptoms and actions I took, not flaming nor insisting that it be fixed overnight.

Having the same issue. I have to stop HD2 in steam, then exit steam, and wait for it to close.

This is still happening as of Feb 26th, the only way for Steam to realize I'm not playing any more is to exit steam and reopen it, and even then it takes a minute to exit out of steam.

I've been having the issue of exiting the game, but the game stays on my screen, and won't close. The only way to get it off my screen seems to be a force restart of my system, is anyone else getting this as well and is there a fix?

This is the only bug I get with helldivers 2. If you have a second monitor, ALT + tab to another application and then initiate shut down on windows. You can then cancel the shut down while it attempts to close steam and HD2 will be closed.
