It shows 0 players online, I cannot join people on worlds or through quick play.. Does anyway have a fix for this? It is very frustrating as not many of my friends have this game

They removed the functionality of the playercount UI in order to increase preformance (at least that's the info on the discord). You can still quickmatch and join players directly via the map.

same here. quickplay doesn't work, no players online, can't find any matches on any planets. Stuck solo for now.

share your tag number and find people in the social menu.. it works

Steam friends list might be set to private or friends only in privacy setting. Check if it is, and change it to public.

Social tab worked for me after I changed my setting and restarted my game
