Really glad to know I'm not the only one here dealing with this, and I had a feeling it had something to do with ASIO. I had a similar issue with Black Ops 3 out of nowhere because of it.
Hopefully we get a fix soon, but as for now I've had to switch back to my HyperX Quadcast as it seems using a USB mic is the only fix right now.
edit: my set of headphones has 2 playback device settings. One is a stereo setting and the other is phone-call setting. When the game turns on, it switches all output to the phone-call setting.
2nd edit: following this video's instructions fixed my audio. link removed, so search for this title: Helldivers 2: Fix Audio/Sound Not Working,Fix Crackling/Distorted/Popping Audio Issue. Its on a channel called menakatechworld
I REALLY want to stream this GAME
and THIS problem won't let me DO IT
I'm very DISAPPOINTED with this factor, because the GAME is GREAT
I HOPE the DEVELOPERS will fix this SOON
Window's Volume Mixer and WinMM CPanel shows audio playing on the correct device but ASIO Link Pro is not getting any of it. My speakers outputs sound when I turn on "Test tone" within ASIO Link Pro, so it's still connected to my ASIO device, but ASIO Link Pro doesn't seems to be able to work with Window's audio interface while the game is running. When I try to restart ASIO Link Pro it fails with an error saying it can't load the ASIO Driver, much like Marv6LP describes above, which goes away after I exit the game.
I tried everything I know of to fix it and nothing works. Without any audio from my computer this game becomes unplayable, so I'm refunding it. I've never had this issue with any other game or software application.
This setup doesn't allow me to mix the game audio like normal in reaper, but it keeps me from having to do a wholesale change to my setup to get audio working. Hope this helps anybody else looking for a solution.
Refunded.
How do we push this matter to devs? So basically no one with ASIO can stream broadcast the game? They must fix this.
Test in game. Does it work yet? Congrats! If not, proceed to step 2.
Step 2: Click the search bar and type "change system sounds". Click the recording tab, click the mic you want to use for this game, then click set as default.
Test in game. Does it work yet? Congrats! If not, it's works on my PC.
