Connection error: Failed to establish network connection at launch

Hello,
I just bought the game but I can't even run it. The only thing I get when I launch it is a black screen showing this error:

Connection error: Failed to establish network connection

I precise that the process helldivers2.exe is authorized in my firewall, and that I play other games in multiplayer without any problem.

Can someone help me with that problem please?

It involves resetting your network, and this is the way I did it:

   • ipconfig /flushdns

Also, restart your router. I have to do these things every time I wanna play, but it works flawlessly. If I don’t I get the same error.

Okay, the above post does work for me... temporarily. I can boot up Helldivers no issue after doing this and play, even close the game and reopen it in the case of a loading screen crash, but if I just let me PC run for a while without playing (About four hours is the minimum time I've been off between trying to play) and I try to go back it gives me this error again.

Anyone have any idea what's going on?

This worked, and did not have to restart my modem/router just computer.

This, I've been able to temporarily fix it by simply rebooting my computer, but that doesn't really fix the problem, it just pushes it further back. I would like a permanent fix if possible.

i fully agree no one should have to do these things to connect to a game. this is definately a server issue. there are tons of ppl with many issues but the server connection is bar far the worst. how was there not testing done?

Just booted up the game for the first time and got this error. Not a good first impression...

I also am having this issue. Sometimes restarting the game helps but minutes after playing it gives me the same failed to establish network connection and kicks me out of the game.

Did not used to have this issue.

It's a problem with this game's P2P networking. It's not sending and receiving correctly through firewall ports to routers. So the returning traffic and negotiation fails immediately.

Don't mess with host files, IPv6, firewall rules, port forwarding, even running this game under Linux won't help.

Connect your PC directly to your Fiber WAN or hotspot from your phone; So that there is no intermediary between your Windows firewall rules, outgoing and incoming traffic.

It's the 5th of July and finally I found your comment it was exceptional connecting the cable directly to the computer fixed it all thank you !!
