FIX BLUETOOTH AUDIO

It's painful to play because the sound is muffled and distorted with my airpods pro, please let people choose the audio devices in the settings like in ALL games

i tried a few troubleshooting things about this. i disabled the windows handsfree telephony service for my BT headphones. they sound great, just not in this game. the game is now brute-forcing the game audio through the windows handsfree telephony service and i cannot understand why.

i've stopped trying to troubleshoot this, for now, cuz this game as way too many issues for my sanity to take. dogwater BT audio for me yessr

ive also updated every gd driver my system has, so this aint on me (or you)

I've found a permanent solution on Reddit.

As anyone who tried Handsfree telephony knows, it re-enables after you restart (+BT microphone gets enabled - at least in my case). To get around this, you can instead disable the Bluetooth Audio Gateway Service.

In your search bar, type Services and open the Services app. Find Bluetooth Audio Gateway Service. Stop the service, then right click and go to properties, change the Startup type to Disabled. This way, the service will remain disabled when you restart your pc.

after you disable the service, you need to restart your headphones

You can disable Bluetooth Audio Gateway, but it comes with a host of issues (like not showing battery status or using delayed handshake protocol). Fix it, this isn't an unsolvable issue, other games work just fine with Bluetooth headsets and microphones.

Yes, I can, these are just crutches, I don’t wanna mess with how my headphones are supposed to work. It also makes them connect for too long. The devs must fix the issue, let people choose any device in the settings

Same problem. The day before yesterday everything was fine, yesterday I went into the game, the sound is terrible, it keeps cutting out. Please fix it.
