[FIX] How to fix the "Unable to establish a connection to game" error (Network reset method)

Heya, guys

I found a way to fix the "Unable to establish a connection to game"[i.imgur.com] error (on PC) that I was getting after the first cutscene.


It involves resetting your network, and this is the way I did it:

1. Press Windows key and type 'CMD', then run it as Administrator[i.imgur.com]
   
2. Enter these commands in order:
   
   • netsh winsock reset
     
   • netsh int ip reset all
     
   • netsh winhttp reset proxy
     
   • ipconfig /flushdns
3. Then restart your PC and try connecting to the game again

I had to run the commands twice, with a restart in between and let the initial cutscene run uninterrupted but it worked flawlessly.

it looks like they change where gameguard gets updates from. I'm not sure where it was in the past, but it now going to: gameguard.thehelldiversgame.com

For me, because that is a newly created name, my firewall blocked it.
see if you can access it: https://gameguard.thehelldiversgame.com/ (it will give an error, but the key thing is that you can access the page. If you can't access it then gameguard can't update.)
flushing dns might help if you don't have a firewall blocking new sites names. (assuming they are changing the IP address too.)

I’m on SteamDeck and I can’t connect. This is so annoying. It worked fine yesterday and the day before. New patch and they screw it up.

These steps worked flawlessly the first time I did it on the night of the 14th. Now after the patch, back to the same ole Failed to create lobby screen.
