Black screen at startup

When I start the game from Steam or from a desktop icon I see the NGuard Logo and then the game starts fullscreen. The screen is blank and I don't hear any audio. I'm on the latest version as of 2/14/2024 and my graphics drivers are all up to date. Anything I can do to report this to Arrowhead for a fix?

I just found a fix go to this file C:\Users\"user"\AppData\Roaming\Arrowhead\Helldivers2. and delete the user_settings. config file.

For me, the issue is with how the game fullscreens. Switching the game to borderless windowed before closing the game solves the issue, and you can just switch back to fullscreen when the game opens without any problems.

If you don't want to have to reset all your settings from deleting the entire user_settings file, you can just set fullscreen to false, and optionally make it read only so the game always launches in windowed mode and avoid the black screen issue entirely.

Saw this other post and i did it and it worked
TL;DR: Delete your user_settings.config from "C:\Users(username)\AppData\Roaming\Arrowhead\Helldivers2"

Similar issue here but after I try to start it and it turns black my pc freezes and I have to hardrestart my pc

I did that but nothing changed

I have a real fix that will help you. What you need to do is go to the game in your library, right click on the game, and go to properties. Then, go to the installed files and refix the download by

verify the integrity of game files

. The anti-cheating system is buggy, which is causing some files to become corrupted. I apologize for bad English.

I just installed the game and cant find any files related to the thread, but I'm still having the issue?

i have to re-verify the integrity of game files every time i want to launch it to just find out the servers are full every time.

This just starting happening to me to. Played about 40 minutes ago with no problem, now the game won't even load.
