Report a translation problem
I've had trouble getting that to work sometimes - not to mention on higher difficulties looking anywhere other then where you have to is kind of a pain, especially with something time critical like this. If it's smoke I might want to run toward it. This points to a larger game design issue, one that the developers seem 'hell' bent on pursuing despite the namesake not needing it - but I digress.
I would also like to highlight the OP's question of why they got shuffled again. I second this question - epecially when the game is seriously lacking content. Time & energy could have been so much better spent.
