Artillery Shell Colors
TL;DR: the recent change to SEAF artillery shell colors has negatively impacted my play experience due to the colors appearing extremely similar across a wide range of lighting conditions. - I am Red/Green colorblind, which exacerbates the issue.


So this is something of a niche issue and also just aggravating to me.
The SEAF Artillery shell coloration are bad. I don't know why they needed to be changed again, nor why the visually distinct sabot shell removed.

Originally there was the issue of smokes and mini-nukes being virtually identical, which caused issues and was changed. Smokes got switched to the sabot style round and given a light gray color. Good change.

Everything was distinct then. Yellow for Nukes, Red for High Yield Exp, Black for Normal Exp, then the distinct sabot rounds for the more utility shells like red napalm, blue static, and gray smoke.
I liked this setup, it was good and easy to discern what was what in all light conditions even with my colorblindness.

Now as of one of the recent patches, all shells share the round nosed style, which Isn't particularly the issue to me. The sabot shell never really made sense for an artillery shell, so i'll move past that. Why, though, did the shell colors get shuffled again?
Now we've got Black Nukes, dark Red High-yield, Green Explosive, Red napalm, Blue Static, and dark gray smoke.
At night or in half of the lighting conditions, half of these colors are practically identical to each other, especially to someone like me with colorblindness. This was a genuinely detrimental change to my play experience, and I've seen at least a few others sharing similar sentiments.

If I got the shell colors they used wrong, well... do correct me, but that would kinda just prove my point about the colors being hard to distinguish.

I've had trouble getting that to work sometimes - not to mention on higher difficulties looking anywhere other then where you have to is kind of a pain, especially with something time critical like this. If it's smoke I might want to run toward it. This points to a larger game design issue, one that the developers seem 'hell' bent on pursuing despite the namesake not needing it - but I digress.

I would also like to highlight the OP's question of why they got shuffled again. I second this question - epecially when the game is seriously lacking content. Time & energy could have been so much better spent.
