cant play with friends

cant join them they cant join me and i can only do single player stuff makes no since and i dont know how to fix it... works fine on my steam deck.



Update: found a fix/workaround

I have Starlink and my base stations could be state wide or across the country. Meaning my I.P address doesn’t match my location. So sometimes it will work and other times it will fail to join because the anti cheat is preventing me from playing online. The solution? Download a vpn and run it in your state if you can pick the nearest server and connect to it. Without fail now it has worked for me and others.

Another fix I’ve found for friends not showing up is having your steam profile set to private. Make sure it’s set to public.

Having the same issue, just started last night for me but I can't connect to friends or randos. Just posted my own long form forum thread but definitely gonna sub to this to continue the hunt for fixes until the devs actually work out the kinks in their game instead of worrying about nerfs in a PvE game.

My issue is I don’t seem a lot in here about not being able to play with others more connection issues drops ect.. it’s odd that I have is issue on a newer pc that’s updated. I have a amd cpu and 3060ti

Also the one time I was able to get it to work on pc was when I ran it in admin mode. So I know it can work on my pc but no clue to way or what’s keeping it from playing online. Also firewall and anti virus is off and any back ground programs are off.

If you're not seeing people online. Put your friends list to public if it's not. That is a workaround until it's fixed.

I’ll check it out currently no one shows up for me besides steam friends list in game it shows no one and the friend request in game doesn’t work. If you haven't passed two hours, refund the game and cite this as a reason. This started happening to me on 2/16/24 and is still happening, I haven't been able to play multiplayer except once, at 2 AM in the morning while testing something since then. This isn't the most common bug, but enough of us are affected by it and it's not going away that I would assume it won't be fixed soon and just get your money back.

My ticket with support has been open since 2/26 and hasn't been touched, at that time it's ID was in the 47k range, new tickets right now are in the 100k range.

That’s sucks to hear I just opened a ticket yesterday and unfortunately I played on my steam deck first before I noticed it doesn’t work on my pc and at that point I was over in hours… I have almost 30 hours played all but a couple on the deck lol. Really hope they are at least aware of it and looking into it I bought two copies and my budy also bought one so we all can play.

Steam Profile and Friendlist needs to be set to public to work.

That's around the same time it happened to me. Just tried to get a refund and I'm at 40+ hours... :/

I also have this issue. I've been having connection issues for maybe a week and a half now where people would disconnect repeatedly during a session but since yesterday I can't join anyone. Public or friends list.

I did this and was able to play online… I’ll try again tomorrow and hope it wasn’t a fluke and actually fixed it.. if it did I’ll update everyone and praise you lol

I can join, invite through Steam. Idk why PlayStation cant get the API to interface correctly, my other games I dont have to DMZ my profile to use rudimentary features like friends lists, but hey, if it works for ya then it works for ya, but since it dont, then its bugged in my view.
