Helldivers 2 randomly disabling/turning off WiFi adapter?
Not sure if anyone's ID'd whatis possibly the cause of the issue but it appears as if there's something with the game (idk if it has to do with the anti-cheat at all). But There's been a few times while in game where I'll basically disconnect from the other players and either get booted back to my ship solo or am left in the game solo.

Either way when I tab out my WiFi shows as either being unable to connect to the internet or unable to connect to my router. The only remedy to this is by going into Window's Network settings and resetting my network adaptor.

The bug itself seems to be really inconsistent, sometimes happening two or three times within the span of 30 minutes, other times not happening at all.

I can confirm that it's nothing on my end as all drivers are up to date, connection is strong and stable and I have more than enough bandwidth available (the issue has also never happened at any other point in time while using my PC.

My PC is running on Windows 11 (23H2), with a MediaTek RZ608 wifi chip, on the motherboard (running latest drivers)

EDIT: So I just looked through Event Viewer to see what was going on when it cuts out.
Issue seems to be related to DNS servers not responding followed by the "WLAN Extensibility Module" stopping.

So here's what Event Viewer lists as the description for the "warnings" at the time of network disconnect:

(The warning/error messages are organised from first to last).
*I've also left out the number following the "Client PID" as idk networking stuff and don't know if these numbers have any relevance to my PC/network's security.

First time of tonight's session:
- "Name resolution for the name 974a9.playfabapi.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded. Client PID *

- "Name resolution for the name api.live.prod.thehelldiversgame.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded. Client PID *

- "WLAN Extensibility Module has stopped. Module Path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\mtkihvx.dll"

Second time of tonight's session: I will also note that the PID number Event Viewer lists is different for the second time the issue happens. Interestingly the PID number between the first and second warning below were different whereas they were the same the first time it happened tonight,

- Name resolution for the name 974A9.playfabapi.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded. Client PID *

- Name resolution for the name test.steampowered.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded. Client PID *.

- WLAN Extensibility Module has stopped. Module Path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\mtkihvx.dll

Having the exact same problem as of last night, Helldivers has started disabling my wifi adapters and I get the same event log errors. Did you ever solve it?

I was experiencing the same issue for 4 days. Tried everything. I was getting an event log saying my wifi adapter was having issues.. on a whim i when to intel website and found the drivers directly from there instead of relying on windows update.. i installed the drivers and suddenly everything worked great. .i was able to play all day.. then this morning I am having the same issue, the same error.. it makes absolutely no sense.. my internet works for everything else ..I thought i solved it with the drivers. Apparently not. It's something in the code or the servers.

This has happened to me as well. I even lost connection with other players when I join a game

Old OEM wifi-driver. If you can't update the driver for whatever reason, a typical workaround is a) disabling the power-saving functions the device will use. In the power-config, there's usually a setting or other for "power saving level", or something like that. Set it to always active. b) disabling the 5Ghz band and the other standards. In the device-manager there's an "advanced" tab with 802.11/ax/ac..something like that. Set it to ac instead of ax.

But it's been a good year since that problem was "current" (by which I mean even OEM-drivers would have caught up at that point).

Has anyone found a fix yet? I get it too. I open the game to play, it stays connected for a few minutes then boom gone, "Failed to establish network connection". Then when I check I am disconnected from the internet and can't reconnect until I restart the system.
