cant join friends or be joined by them

On the social screen i only appear as "online" and not "in ship" to my friends so i cant join them and they cant join me. If i try to join them it will act like its going to but then it says connection failed. got the game two days ago and have tried plenty of fixes etc but never been able to join friends.

I have the same issue at the moment. Last week I was able to play with friends but now I can't.

- Same issue steam Friend list shows i'm on main menu and not on ship and in game social just shows i'm online and not on ship
- cant join friends or randoms on command table i just get a failed to join game
- started yesterday for me after i was playing for like 6 hours the previous night
- only change that happened is the new war-bond pass came out
- reset computer / steam / reinstall didn't help
- i can enter solo's fine but still looks like i'm on main menu on friends list
- I use starlink internet but its only this game i'm having issues with any other game runs
- i have not linked my ps account with steam
- since i can load into the game and look at the acquisition center and run solo missions it feels like i can connect to helldivers servers but cant connect to multiplayer portion of it |

honestly i just wana play with people and this is making it frustrating

the issue is between the game and the PS network/crossplay.
I recommend making a Playstation account (free and dont need a playstation) and using the game to link steam and PS accounts together. once thats done, turn on crossplay in the settings menu in game.

follow the steps in my link on the PS account page and you should be golden, make sure everyone that you want to friend or play with does this as well. My friend had the same issue as you (we are both PC) and this fixed it for good.

yeah im using starlink as well. But a friend of mine is also on starlink and he can get on just fine

I had the same problem, copy pasting my reply from another thread:
So I don't know what exactly fixed it, but these are the steps I took after my last attempt that made it work:
1. Disabled cloud saves
2. Downloaded the game on another PC
3. Ran normally there and played a few rounds
4. Enabled cloud saves (first on second PC, then on main)
5. Profit? Worked on my main PC after that

What didn't help: disabling IPv6, crossplay/public settings, running the game as administrator, deleting everything in user/appdata/roaming/arrowhead.

(I'm not on starlink)

this is going to be dumb idk it fixed it for me but check if your graphics card driver has a update then restart your computer then try it seems to have fixed it for me

For me that trick works. Just wait about 10-30 minutes after launching a game and wait in ship. Don't close the game. Looks like overloaded server issues, they can't handle quickly a large amount of players

nvm just got a lucky break i guess played one and a half game with ppl before i just black screened and loaded back onto bridge with no warning and showing me on main menu on freinds list again QQ

the same here I can't even launch quick games, it's looking for a session and it never finds

I am on PC and i'm able to play cross-play but am unable to play with other PC users. i look this up and seem to be the only one. if i turn off cross-play it lets me load into games but as soon as my drop pod is about to drop in it kicks me saying lost connection to host.
