update takes hours

Why tf does updating the game take hours and hours? it's been updating for the past 2 hours and its only at 13%, what the ♥♥♥♥ is wrong with this game? before i start the update it says its 45mbs, when i start it, it jumps to 12.5GBs
i can't play today because its taking so damn long
i've tried clearing space on my PC, i've restarted the Wi-fi, i've done everything i can to fix this and it doesn't work. i can't even move it to my SSD like people in a server suggested cause the game needs to update.
