After today's patch the microphone stopped working
Steelseries Arctis 7 - It worked fine until today's patch. I have it set as the default communication and audio device. In the game it acts as if I don't have it at all. I tried both open microphon, push to talk and other mods.

Hey thanks, Sonar is solution for Steelseries users.

Yes, enable Sonar in Steelseries GG app for mic to work, make sure to setup the correct devices in the mixer tab as well.

My mic also stopped working after the last patch. I also have a Steelseries headset, and enabling Sonar (ugh) worked for me too. Hopefully AH can fix whatever the issue is with the game, because I do not need 5 virtual audio devices I'm never going to use.

I had something similar where my mic stopped working in HD2 but it would work in every other application. I found a fix for mine but it may not work for you.

Windows search, type change system sound, click the playback tab, scroll down and find what your headset is labeled as (mine was Realtek(R). Set that as your default and reopen Helldivers 2. The bad thing is I have to do this every time I open the game but it allows my mic to be heard.

If this doesn’t work I heard that other steelseries users are setting something to “sonar” and is fixing the issue. Not sure if that means anything to you but I believe it’s in the driver settings for your headphones.

Same issue here, I have Arctis 7. Even if I change another mic (Logitech webcam) to my default, I still cannot use my mic in game. I have tried PTT & Open Mic.
I am on PC, Windows 10.

Found a fix for if you're running Linux.

Change to using "Experimental Proton Bleeding Edge" instead of regular Proton in Steam... Fixed it immediately for me.

Not sure if this will work for you, but this was happening to me when I started playing, using a ps4 controller and later an xbox controller. I found out that if you open the Game bar/xbox game bar, you may need to set your audio devices there in order for them to work. If using bluetooth, you may need to choose the headset option, not headphone.

hopefully this can help someone.

Steelseries 7 here, changed all the defaults to ARCTIS 7 CHAT in sound settings, control panel, in whatever AUDIO location I could find and disabled all others and system tests all register sound but nothing in HD2 (open mic, push to talk). Worked fine originally, just stopped working a few weeks ago. Tried Sonar, and game sound got very uneven, no mic, and eventual crash.

Steelseries Arctis 5 here and exact same issue - HD2 doesn't register any mic input. In Windows, it tells me that HD2 is 'using' the microphone and the mic works perfectly fine in all other applications.

Mine is working again after latest patch.
