I had same GPU and had performance issues since like April or so ..
It was so bad i had to go 1080p low/off and still had 40-60 fps, often less than more
Bought 4080 in November because of this .. and was running again 150 fps, perfect.
From December or something, game is randomly dropping to 49 or 59 fps .. very weird number
But its always when looking only in certain direction ..
Game had always performance issues. With this speed it will take couple of years to fix it .. if even.
Weird thing is .. From March to July/August or so .. there was an option to start the game WITHOUT GG, it was kind hard to pull off but most of the time it was working and i had almost zero crashes and almost no performance issues when the GG was off. Then there was an update and it was no longer working so playing with GG on was only option. So again, useless 3rd party program like Denuvo making the game kinda worse.
I seem to have found a fix on my end. I use an HP Omen laptop which uses the Omen Gaming Hub application to manage all sorts of video adapter, fan driver, and optimization settings. After changing only 1 setting, my graphics card stopped acting so strangely. Specifically in the Performance Control tab, I toggled the Power Mode setting from Balanced > Performance > Balanced (again). "Performance Mode" kicked my GPU fans into high gear and pushed my CPU temps to uncomfortable levels, so I set it back to "Balanced Mode", which is where it was to begin with. Within a few seconds of applying the changes, both CPU and GPU temps/usage went back to normal and stayed that way (further monitoring will be conducted, of course).
I'll definitely be keeping this method in mind and will apply it to remediate similar issues in the future. If you have a similar application to configure your computer, I'd highly recommend trying something close to what I did. Hopefully this solution is reliable!
