Game is not working. Keeps Crashing everytime. Cant play. Help.

I cant play this game anymore. Keeps crashing at the start, in a mission, or on the menu or staying on the ship. Don't know. need assistant.

After most recent hotfix 1/14/25, my game wont even start. It just crashes 2 seconds after pressing the "play" button

i have had problems with game guard on two occasions. since game guard fails to launch the game doesn't launch.navigate to the steam folder \ steam apps\common\helldivers 2\bin And Delete the game guard folder. then relaunch from steam and game guard should re download and the game may then launch.

as for crashing when a mission begins. i wonder if that out of order processing setting at the bottom of the graphics menu would help with that if its disabled and your crashing then enable it and hope for the best. failing that have steam re validate the games files. perhaps maybe change the cpu core affinity for helldivers 2 in the task manager to use 6 or 8 selected cores instead of having all of them selected. if done right you can have the game run on the more powerful cores while ignoring the weaker e cores.

..sadly tmk core affinity changes would have to be reset upon every launch of the game as the default is all cores all the time regardless if they are p or e cores

Same issue like most AMD users.
The methods here has helped people to resolve it, especially the CPU/GPU related sections

also, you should make use of the anti memory leak tool, as you have had issues with Remnant 2 as well

running an old fx8350 \ rx590 system and asides from gameguard has been the problem twice. id hate to see a ryzen x3d cpu struggle to run the game stable.

as fx8350 user i only have W cores.. WEAK cores to worry about lol

It is thoroughly tested and working fine on the tests systems.

Same here, all up 2 date. After this patch game is unplayable - after a while it closes to desktop or reboots the whole PC. RTX 4080, W11, 32GB of DDR5, Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

ok so there is some progress, I have not touched the voltage but downclocked the GPU by -110Mhz via MSI afterburner and got a stable session so far (Voltage reached 1.075v and kept 4080 stable at 2610Mhz)

ok another fix I found on one of the threads is the voltage tweak and I can confirm the game was stable for 1h straight - was lowering the voltage to 0.975v at 2595mhz on the RTX 4080 (had to watch some youtube vids to learn) make no mistakes game sometimes still crashes with crash report but this made it playable again

Same issue, constant crashes, put a ticket in with Arrowhead and their response was "we know there are issues for AMD users, we don't have a solution, please be patient." Meanwhile, the "Known Issues" post at the top of this forum was last updated in Feb 2024 to say the game is unplayable on AMD devices. 11 months with no update.

I just got this game and it's in an unplayable state. Ridiculous. I'd return it if I could.

This game is hot garbage. just launched it for the first time since near release. It crashed on the startup movie/animatioln. goes to 1fps all the sudden and freezes till I kill it.

I removed the folder from app data and it fixed it. I could get to the menu but it keep having micro freezes. Upon trying to drop all the graphics settings super low when applying the changes it goes to 1fps then crashes then doesn't boot up till i remove the app data folder again. This is hot garbage. my specs are amazing and yes my drivers are all up todate and my ♥♥♥♥ runs cold on liquid cooling.

cpu: 9950x
ram: 64GB ddr5 6000hz
gpu: nvidia 4080 super
monitor: 4k 240hz

anyone who replies to these crash on bootup threads with 'get a good pc" or "update your drivers" has no idea. The game is broken AF

Every patch notes: fixed some crashes, fixed some connection problems (SOME, not all)
This user in every thread about crahes: you have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ pc, there arent any crashes
