Constant crashes on fresh windows install
So after months with crashes i decided to make a clean install of windows, turns out the game does not like it anyway and still keeps crashing with the same error in event viewer (the same most people is getting that points to ntdll.dll)

Already tried clearing cache, deleting everything under Arrowhead folder in AppData, followed most steps on the Helldivers 2 Update Guide, disabled auto CPU overclock in BIOS, installed the MVCR FIX from nexusmods...

Nothing is working, the game still decides to ♥♥♥♥ itself after a random time (can be 5 minutes, 20, or even 120)

So any help to fix this? In other threads people have not been able to fix it so i have little hope

Share a DxDiag report first.
Disable "Screen-Space Globnal Ilumination" and lower some of the settings, but keep textures and others high so you won't have blurry terminals.

This helped me greatly and my game never crashed again. I was literally crashing 2 or 3 times during each iluminates drop. a little less frequently against bots and really rrarely against bugs.
Now I play without crashes.

I belive it was mostly "Screen-Space Globnal Ilumination", but I haven't tested it much.

Yeah i played for a couple hours yesterday and had a great time. I signed in this morning though and the game is jittery to the point of being unplayable. I checked my drivers and tested with other games. The problem is specific to HD2.

can confirm i have exact the same problem as op!
there is currently no solution for this error. i did the same as he did and nothing worked so far. before illuminate update i could play fine without crashes.

Again the very common error message regarding ntdll.dll

Did you have problems with Windows updates?

Considering you already replaced the ntdll.dll file, it is most likely a hardware issue.
Not much can be done about that.

It's not a hardware issue. It's the bs kernal level "nProtect" software which is conflicting with Windows/Updates

Doubt, already replaced CPU and main SSD, GPU is fine since it pass stress tests

Tried the fixes the reddit user suggested but didn't work

And you also ran GPU in debug mode, right?

Damn, this is tricky.
Did you try compatibility mode too?

How far did you go with clean boot and disabling DEP?

Dunno what did the trick, ran a memtest86 and ended with 0 errors

After that enabled win7 compatibility and debug mode on nvidia panel

Managed to play 4 consecutive games without crashing, then another 3 after i took a break

I would say its fixed, but need to play more to 100% confirmation
