Game freezes or hands when quitting to desktop

Recently about 40% of the time, When i exit to desktop the game just doesnt shutdown. The game freezes and just sits t here wont shut down, i have to end the task in task manager.

same here. that's been going on forever. Arrowhead hasn't figured out how to make it an actual application (notice you can't alt+tab to helldivers 2).

Had that problem on my laptop and thinks nothing off it as I was going to end my session anyways. (My old laptop doesn't crash during Hellpod launch!).
I just Ctrl-Alt-Del into the desktop and stop the game through the Steam App if I want to avoid that crash.

Now if I could just get it to play on my PC without it crashing on the Hellpod launch screen!!!!

Same problem. Its not every time but 50/50
