Got the game as a gift (today)
There's some possible fixes. Obviously this problem already appeared in the past.

You can try following things (maybe it works for you)

1. Run the game as admin
2. Whitelist Gameguard (Antivirus / Firewall)
3. Repair the game files (Helldivers 2 -> Properties -> Local files)
4. Restart steam / your PC (if you downloaded / installed the game recently)
