5700XT - Game crashes on Super Destroyer
GPU 5700XT, CPU 3700X
My game was consistently crashing within a minute of starting on the ship. I underclocked my gpu from default 2090 to 1800, and now I can play one mission with no issues, but then crash again post match back on the ship! It's extremely consistent.
-framerate capped at 59 in game
-borderless windowed mode
-safe settings at 1440p
-disabled global illumination

Already tried
*verifying game files
*deleting the game cache
*deleting gameguard folder
*reinstalling
*DDU'ing for a safe driver reinstall
*running game as admin
*current (stable) gpu driver
*tried dx11 with correct dlls

I can at least play one mission at a time which is better than before, but something on the ship causes the game to break, and my 5700XT can handle more underclocked, but still crashes the game, display, and occasionally shuts down my whole pc.
A few months before the illuminate patch, I would crash every few missions at random times, but nothing this bad or consistent. Seems to be a recent issue

EDIT 4: Disabling AMD's instant replay seemed to help, while staying in windowed borderless
EDIT 3: Cleaned up some disk space, ran sfc /scan now, multiple dism scans, windows update installed new .net framework. Still seeing the issue.
EDIT 2: Even undervolted, my luck seems to have run out. Once again getting every startup as a crash within seconds of loading into the ship.
EDIT: After two weeks of this, I make this post and of course I'm able to play three matches in a row before crashing. Underclocking helps, but inconsistently it seems.

I have the same issue and i noticed its exactly the same behaviour i have in path of exile 2
(mouse starts barely moving until the whole system freezes)
people in the poe2 forums seem think the new windows 11 cpu scheduler is at fault

You have multiple PC issues caused by low storage on your OS drive.

Windows needs around 120 GB free space on C: to work properly. Considering your RAM and overall hardware 200 GB are recommended to keep vacant for C: Because of that issue multiple updates did not applied correctly and you would need to reinstall several things to be on the safe side.

Start by cleaning up space then check for Windows updates and use SFC + DISM

If the issues persists afterwards reinstall Visual Studios and .NET Framework

Somewhere some time ago some update must have gone corrupted according to your DxDiag report.

Cleaned up some disk space, ran sfc /scan now, multiple dism scans, windows update installed new .net framework. Started the game and let it sit on the ship, so far so good. Might crash again after a match or so, I'll update if it keeps going. Thanks again!
EDIT: quit and restart, crashed after five seconds lmao
I'll reinstall visual studios and maybe get a .net framework install from the microsoft site since it already downloaded from Windows Update

Issue persists with DX11 and correct dlls, no dice. Checking out event viewer I think I'm seeing the same errors I see in other crash threads
Events include LiveKernelEvent, D3DDRED2, BEX64, APPCRASH
Touches helldivers2.exe, ntdll.dll, ucrtbased.dll

Yeah, those two are basically Visual Studio and .NETFramework - these links might help

Reinstall Visual C++ Redistributables
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53840

Use .NET Framework Repair Tool
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135

The Visual Studio stuff happens so easily and so often that I even put it on Nexusmods since sometimes it is hard to get the right version
https://www.nexusmods.com/helldivers2/mods/93

Make sure to restart the PC after applying the fixing stuff.

Share a new DxDiag report, then I can check if the error notes have changed if the issue persists.
Excatly same problem withe the same gpu, getting a new card now.
BTW, I turned off "Instant Replay", and kept it in borderless windowed mode. Since I did both those, I've only had a few crashes while playing for another 20+ hours, compared to multiple crashes per hour. I still crash on start with either turned on. So that may work for you
My GPU is actually dying though, so I'm still replacing my setup soon

disable reBar/4G Decoding at BioS or Driver for the game. Use Dx11
