FIX FOR GAME WONT START
This is how i fixed the game not starting at all:

Get files: msvcp110.dll and msvcr110.dll

Put them in the BIN folder next to the HELLDIVERS2.EXE file. Get them from "dll-files.com"

This is the same issue STEEP has. I fixed it there too the same way. It works. Try it.

Thank you for the fix!! Steam won't let you click on the link but if you put in the url into google it'll be fine. Thank you again for the fix!

No problem my friend! I was about to refund, and then i noticed this game has the same issue as STEEP (for some anyway).

Glad it worked!

Problem is, I think it needs to be a specific type of file as when you look these up on the dll database, it has over 10 different versions of the same file. That's why I think the game still is not working. I updated the drivers via geforce and have the latest update installed, so I don't think that will be an issue. It's like it's not registering that these two files are in the bin folder when they are.

I search them on the website i listed (i know they are clean files) and i pick the latest ones of each. It worked both in STEEP and in HELLDIVERS2 for me so thats why i threw it out there in case it would help others.

I think one of those DLLs come as 64 or non 64 version. Try both. I think i went without 64 (64bit?). Just tried the first plain ones and it worked in both games. WIthout them the games wont start.

I had the same problem and in some Forum they said that they recommanded VisualCppRedist AIO. Search for it, you'll find a github abbodi1406/vcredist: AIO Repack for latest Microsoft Visual something something.
You go in the Releases and pick the x84_x64.exe

I installed all of the redistributables with this exe and now I have zero problem.
The exe uninstalls all the redist on the computer to reinstall them fresh so you don't have to hunt for the one you are missing. It'll take a couple of minutes so yeah.
I dunno why I had the problem to begin with since it was running fine 2 days ago... maybe I messed up by trying to run some rpg maker games xD That's all I can recall I did that could mess it up.

Hope it helps everyone !

Shout out to Alex! Thank you, I have helped my friend fixed this issue with your solution after trying so hard for the past month. We tried many approaches like fix PC environment with c++, dll etc. but none of them worked.

I believe there are quite a lot players in China would need this help, I plan to share your solutions with to the platforms(mark the fix source from you). Hopefully this would also help some of them and we will have more divers to spread democracy.

Again, thanks for sharing.

Would you please tell them they can find out about it by using the DxDiag? There you can see that error if it applies. 谢谢

Yes, I will share this info with them, you're welcome. I've noticed that you were also replying in threads to help fix this issue, thanks for that.

I will try my best to improve - if I manage in the future all Helldivers 2 fixes can be found here

but I normally do not recommend downloading DLL from internet, because it is unsafe. But I can recommend downloading Visual Studio anew to repair because the dll

msvcp110.dll
msvcr110.dll

that is all Microsoft Visual Studio C Plus+ dlls which are seeming broken due to a bad Windows update. Thanks for sharing the tip with Chinese players. :MHRISE_OK:

Where should such an error show up? In all categories i have "no errors" in DxDiag.

And i agree that downloading DLL's can be very bad. That site has always been good though. Thats why i tell people to only go there and not try to find the DLLs somewhere else.

BTW i have tried to repair all that Microsoft stuff. Im pretty sure it just cant fix it and what i need to do (and most of us with this error) is to do a clean Windows installation again. I usually do it every year roughly but havent done it for a few years now. Im sure some of these files are broken but Windows cant fix it even though it says "no problem".

Im glad it worked!

The reason i share this fix is because i ran into the same issue. I couldnt start STEEP for weeks. I almost gave up. Same with this game. I was just about to refund HELLDIVERS 2, but then i thought just to test this because i remember STEEP and how it didnt start. Dropped the DLL's in and boom.

You can find it usually in the diagnostics part. Take this other case for example: https://pastebin.com/UeXjevde

If you scroll down you can see in diagnostics repeatedly the ntdll related error, which indicates a .NET Framework error.

The normal stuff for repairing the issues can be found here

Reinstall Visual C++ Redistributables
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53840

Use .NET Framework Repair Tool
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135

The Visual Studio stuff happens so easily and so often that I even put it on Nexusmods since sometimes it is hard to get the right version

Thanks. Yeah i have done all the repairs and installs. Its only STEEP and HELLDIVERS2 that has this issue for me. I have TONS of games between Steam, Epic, GOG, UBISOFT and direct.

I will reinstall my PC completely soon.

Cheers.
