Update is corrupt, tried everything I think.

I have ran verification, uninstalled the game, restarted. deleted folders and files in what I believe are the game locations. It will dry to download the 23Gb or so and then verify and then fail. Very strange. I also used REVO uninstaller and had it scan for leftover files and registry files and removed them as well with no luck. prior to the error earlier I did uninstall a Cisco software VPN from my machine as I no longer use it (haven't used it for months, so today I decided to remove it). It is possible this removed item(s) it shouldn't have, but I do not see why the game will not reinstall at this point. Any advice or item to try?

this has been happening off and on for me over the last three patches. I just keep trying these random steps of uninstalling things. Only times when I actually get it to work is when I uninstall steam entirely and then bless my computer before reinstalling everything. Some things work for one and not others. Super annoying...

This should help: Go into steam settings, then download, and choose clear download cache. try download helldivers update again or verify

I have tried that, unfortunately it did not work. I have tried a different download region, I have set up a new windows user, uninstalled all of steam, the game, and ran a tool we use at work called REVO uninstaller, it will scan the registry and remove leftovers. I have even gone out and found that there are a few versions of visual c++ that are apparently used, so I uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled...no joy. It is very, very unusual. I discovered something called the hellbomb.script that will do checks and help with certain issues, it does not help. Very frustrating. I have removed almost all of the non-default windows programs that are installed..(which are not many as this is a newer laptop). I am honestly at a loss.

SO I just tried again, after uninstalling, clearing cache, changing the download region (to something different, again), deleting the steam download folder, etc. etc. once it completes downloading it starts to verify. it runs all the way through the verification process and then never actually installs the game, instead it says "corrupt update files". uggh.
